Hello my name is Tobias I am sixteen years old.
I’ve been a little bit naughty, but I always did what I was told.
My Daddy was my hero, I sure miss him now that he’s gone.
He got sick from cancer, and last year he passed on.
I have three younger sisters and a mother who doesn’t care.
She finally stopped using drugs, but she still doesn’t want us there.
We’ve been split up in the system, there wasn’t a family that could take us all.
I haven’t seen my siblings, since that dreaded night last fall.
Put yourself in my shoes, please try and comprehend.
I no longer have a home, my family or my best friend.
Now you know my story, when you pass me out on the street.
I am my father’s son, alone I stand on my own two feet.
