Tobias

Hello my name is Tobias I am sixteen years old. I’ve been a little bit naughty, but I always did what I was told. My Daddy was my hero, I sure miss him now that he’s gone. He got sick from cancer, and last year he passed on. I have three younger sisters and a mother who doesn’t care. She finally stopped using drugs, but she still doesn’t want us there. We’ve been split up in the system, there wasn’t a family that could take us all. I haven’t seen my siblings, since that dreaded night last fall. Put yourself in my shoes, please try and comprehend. I no longer have a home, my family or my best friend. Now you know my story, when you pass me out on the street. I am my father’s son, alone I stand on my own two feet. *This is a true story about one of my wife's foster children* She is a Social Worker for Foster Care

His mother refused to take him back, so sad. I can't imagine how that would feel. :(

So sad Mark that children through no fault of their own end up in the care system and people like your dear wife see that they receive love and attention and make them feel wanted and loved. Tom

How sad it must be for children to try to survive under those conditions. Your wife is fulfilling a great need these children have for finding a safe home and nurturing.
