Learning to write with those quills first
Then, in fountain pens, immersed
Ballpoints are the best; they advertise
Computer writings, now, immortalize
My quill in a nook stands as a humble servant.
My once-favourite pens remain with their nibs bent.
As a friend in one's poverty, forgotten when one grows rich
Has modernity made a void within artistry's niche?

Opportunity knocked early for her;
time after time her mom built self-esteem
Mistakes made were life's lessons for learning.
Optimist, she always saw the bright side;
timid, she was not, she could speak her mind.
Misty-eyed, she reflects on her childhood.
Opinions her dad held were often flawed
Timeserving was his favorite past-time;
mistrust was how he looked at everyone.
Opposition? She learned to handle it.
Timeworn phrase of her mom has stuck with her.
"Mistreatment makes you forget who you are."
Oppression is short-lived knowing how a
timeless, almightly Father forgives the
mistrust of mankind throughout the world.
