A Salute To Dennis Deyoung
Styx is not the same without Dennis get in the mix
Paradise album in 81 was so very fun
Too much tim on his hands
Babe a timeless classic
now at 70 he hasn't lost his longevity
although Styx is quite a mystery
thought it was a river in the gates of Hell
but I got a good story to tell
Tommy Shaw had his fued with Dennis a long time ago
back in the 90's the group stayed together
Renegade he had it made
breaking free from all the cosmic chatter
Although the group Styx operates today on two seperate entities
they both sing like a dream Come Sail Away with me lad
adoring fans came to salute such a man with the plan
Dennis winked at my mother at Mohegan Sun in the Wolf's Den
You gifted my fading memories
A sweet and colourful melody
Enlightened my darkest days
With a timeless, classic symphony
Your heart is a message in a vault
In you our sacred love is safe
With every electrifying, magical volt
My dying days are revived to life
A leap of faith off the sky roof
Into the arms of your rafters
Choking deep in the mouth of life
You bellowed a soothing laughter
Your love pulled my weary legs
To crawl on my knees, the extra mile
My last breath hanging by a peg
To regain strength from your smile
A timeless classic upon reaching your castle to choose the good and not the bad breaking away from the ice of the day in search of a ray like sunshine how is your day like the Shakespearean play terms of endearment testing the waters of one's abode will ducky be swimming or ice skating a warm Embrace or on the brink of today in any case show yourself friendly
