she hears the cheering,
the big drums, the cymbals
and daddy’s narrative.
…hears the crowd’s laughter,
the clown’s are after.
her heart beats rapidly
at the possibility
that the pail
could contain
confetti or water
…the blind muses.
she sees
what she calls gray,
the big elephant
on parade.
she’s so high
on a tightwire -
she exhales clouds.
she sees more than
the audience.
she breathes
the embodied-air
of excitement.

Biden's Book Has Roses And Shame
Joe
Biden
And his son
Hunter mayhem
Puts dark clouds to rain
On his father's parade
Where Joe is prim and proper
His son a clown on a tightwire
As Joe took office his son teetered
And
Bounce here
And bounce there
Into the arms
And father's shamed lap
Hunter's soiled laundry hangs
There's a tax probe, gun charges
In an attempt to cover-up
How Joe juggles this act makes one shame

There was a wife of a tightrope walker
oil his tightwire to surprise the actor.
When arose holding long pole
crowd roared, he slipped into roll
no net; with an ugly scowl turned to her.

When you asked the Gods for Life
it was I who gave you mine
And when you wanted Rainbows
I went colorblind.
So when you finally asked for Blood
I gladly sliced my veins
then when you asked for Freedom
it was I who wore the chains.
When you asked me for a Light
I set myself on fire
And when you wanted Balance
I trode the high tightwire.
When you needed Food to eat
I starved and went without
And when you were a bit Unsure
I banished all your doubts.
When you moaned and cried for Death
each time, I died for you
And when you balked and held your Breath
it was I whose lips turned blue.
When I gave you Everything
you always wanted more
On every Opportunity
you simply slammed the door.
