Cowboy rides horse cowboy boots in stirrups
Cowboy hat waving in hand, yeehaw it’s grand,
Cowgirl is on the range! Lasso by corral
Appaloosa horse hurrah! Glad he’s a cowhand.
Dreaming of equipage horse-drawn
Carriage with attendants at wedding,
Hoedown rootin’ good time with
Root beer float, now kiss bride in west heading.
Galloping palomino golden tan coat
Rapid pace fast on each stride,
Cream-colored mane and tail fly high
Fair beautiful daughter sure and firm in abide.
Stagecoach rolls on by, near town Apache Junction
Locomotive sporting cowcatcher grille,
Black Stallion feisty and alive; husband’s
Love abounding in firm steadiness still.
Texas longhorn cattle cowherd on the range
Equestrian horseback riders like cowhide,
Head ’um out, move ’um out, rawhide! Open land wander and graze
Riding habit outfit, western sunset love now wide.

A rancher in friendly State of Texas
proudly finds in his longhorn a nexus
between fighter bull’s mad crash
and Austin footballer’s dash,
through history page to Spain he takes us.

A little boy from the city
down on the farm for a day
wanders away
to look at the sheep
and finds a bull
penned up to go
to the county fair.
The boy loves
the big Texas Longhorn
quietly eating his hay.
The boy smiles at him
admires his beautiful horns
thinks they're handlebars
the biggest he’s ever seen.
So over the fence for a ride.

Miles and miles of dry brush, a tender box for fire
Just a spark and the inferno is burning
Smoke clouds and ashes billow high, in Hell's exhaust
The wind is the fuel for the wildfire
Firefighters fight with all they have, in hopes of turning
All wildlife are on the run, they hurry and scurry
Trying to escape the monster that throws flames
Their homeland, now a to a smoking ember
If they could talk, in their eyes you can see the worry
Yesterday it was fun and games
But not this hot September
Thunder rolls, lighting crashes down from the sky
A pine tree explodes, and all Hell breaks loose
Flames stampede, like a crazy herd of Texas Longhorn mavericks
And the animals wonder why?
Choking like they are in a hangman's noose
The old Devil smiling at all his old tricks
Burning for day and weeks, until it can burn no more
Leaves a scorched path, of a lot of timber
A scar, branded deep by the fire
There are no winners, just the final score
Memories, that they will always remember
That damn old wild fire
