Dear tenants, as you toil and strive,
Remember that God is on your side.
Take heart, for your work is not in vain,
The blessings will come, through the pain.
Though it's hard, to pay your rent,
Respect your landlord, pay it on time.
And then you'll see, your life improve,
As you reap the blessings you deserve.
So take care of your rent, like it's for u,
And the blessing will come, it's true.
Trust in God, and do what is right,
And you'll find joy, through the night.
With this advice, I'll sign off now,
But remember, there's a brighter day.

gingerbread cottage was waiting for the right family
their kids were too loud
there was no discipline
this was not happening
she showed them her meanness
this family ran out screaming
why are you so picky? realtor asked after they had left
next couple was too old, stodgy, set in their ways
she was irritated that they were still alive, let alone looking at houses
gave the wife chills up the back of her neck
I am never going to sell you! lamented the realtor
gingerbread finally found a couple she liked
she thought she could tolerate them
they were giggling and fun
unfortunately, they set a fire in her closet

The walls were thin
The music was loud
Drowned by the whiskey and gin
They stomped upstairs with heavy boots
They made me shudder from tip to root.
They were a noisy bunch
With a Dog that barked all day long
And fell off to sleep when the party was on
Imagine my plight we had a big fight
They laughed with glee and taunted me
They called the cops and did not relent
When I asked them for the rent
They were my tenants who sealed my fate
They lived on the floor right above me
They were the famous Norton Family.

In this craziest time
in mid summer,
Let’s say…
(Owl, the craziest,
laziest, the oldest,
begins his sonorous hoot;
the others: old, young, men
and women,
with their left palm
on their chest, repeat.)
Let’s say high,
to Mother Earth’s
all sons and daughters,
whose existence
we didn't see
(for we do our ward
rounds only at night),
we didn’t care,
we couldn’t respect --
(the word sounds
so sonorous, ambiguous)
Let’s say high,
kneeling down,
weeping, lamenting,
waving
green flags,
(the emblem of peace)
praying …
“Give us,
just one chance more
to learn and live”.
Let’s say high,
pray and pledge,
palm on our lungs,
kneeling down.
Let’s say
high and loud,
“Allow us to live
as tenants, at least”.

A man grew a vineyard.
He dug a wall around it.
A built a pit for a winepress.
A built upon a dwelling tower to look over all that there is.
He placed it in the care of farmers who will tend to the vineyard and they were made his tenants.
When it was time for the vines to bear fruit, he sent his servant to retrieve the fruit, but the servant was beaten by the tenants.
He sent another servant and he too was beaten by the tenants.
He sent another servant but this one was killed by the tenants.
This went on for a while, servants sent wass either beaten or killed by the tenants.
Until, all he had left to do the simple task of retrieving the fruits of the vineyard, was his only son.
The man thought that surely the tenants would be more understanding and kind hearted for this was flesh of his flesh and blood of his blood.
Sadly, the tenants knew that the heir was in their midst and that they will gain the inheritance, so the tenants killed his son.
The man then came and slain the tenants and gave to others the vineyard as an inheritance.
