Green Pastures Gone Brown
David J Walker
The mood rises at the slight hint
Of moisture on a far horizon
Releasing
Faint memories of a fabled rain
Memories of memories
Unable to describe
the scent
of something
Long absent
Memories of temporality
pledged
to a faceless clergy
a Polyhistor’s explanation was
the same
The mood falls
with nights
uncertain
measures
Green pastures
gone brown

Paradigms Temporality
David J Walker
There is no question
That the evening
seemed to come
to an end
too soon
The temporality of
your days
The glow of
a full moon
On the rise
bright are the stars
beaconing’s
as if distant skies
were attainable reckonings
wearing nothing
but our own
flesh & bone
the paradigms new
Grew
From the old

Voices raised-piercing the languid, midday haze
Leaving the pieces of tranquility, an ephemeral memory, soon to be forgotten

Once her mission had been defined by divinity,
My immortal soul incarcerated was, within the
Walls of here and now
For
To serve temporality, under the watchful eyes of
Her warden- the vigilant time- till she is released
From her mortal bonds,
By
Awaiting eternity!

Riches
of this earth seem
infinite..yet human
greed and selfishness never bring
requite
for
treasures
of this world still
tempt and tantalise with
their illusions...yet rarely bring
delight.
