Teather Poems | Examples

As We Were In the Theater

Inside,
instinct
intact
beast...

on the outside,
pure theater
study...

I went before,
actor of your actions,
now only
spectator
absent... but

still i'm living
your actions...
That's a fact... !

What Is Better

Is it

Better to lead

Than be lead

Teather bound to not your
own kite

String one's own bow

Follow your own path

Rather than up and down
a secretive garden

Do thing's your way

Be the wolf not a lamb

Be unique stand alone

Live and die without regret
and fear

Be not behind but 1 step ahead
of the 8' Ball

Face and make the tough
calls

So on and so forth

And if from time to time as
in life thing's turn sour

Be willing to put your head
upon the chopping block

Take and admit responsibility

For leading other's astray and
in the wrong direction

Knowing you have no 1 else
but oneself to blame

Then and only then my Son

You can surely call yourself
a leader

And so must take the lead
And not be lead

Otherwise how is a change
for the better ever to be achieved

And so too parity for the masses

If all we do is follow

Because our leader's are not
willing to put their head's
above the parapet

They Come In

They come in
doing that familiar shuffle
arms
legs akimbo
and eyes
never quite resting on mine
I wonder where their mind has gone
what thoughts crowd their
jagged corners of thought-

They come in
day by day for appointments
doing
better sometimes
and othertimes
they've lost the teather that held them
on solid ground
where reality wasn't shifting by sight or sound

They come in
sometimes strangers to each other
but familiar in their addictions
comfort in numbers
depleated in resources
and lonely in spirit
they move across this space and time
as ghosts who crave satisfaction
still I pray I have no judgement
of them
as I would not like a judgement of me
and hope that one day
they too shall be free.
