The sun's ventures to scorch the blossoms fail.
Goddesses Maia and Lakshmi sail.
Pre-monsoon drizzles cool the environs.
Optimism spreads wings, hushing storm's sirens.
Human forms are moulded to merriment
With the leaven of truth, good deeds ferment.
Clear conscience cascades from the divine source.
As a gentle breeze, love becomes life force.
For the tillers of land, it's a fair season.
In creating this, God has his reason.
As graces reach the zenith of goodness
May the Divine lead all towards fullness!
"Spring being a tough act to follow, God created June." Al Bernstein
June’s moon illumines with gold light in a sapphire sky.
It’s as clear to me as a cloudless night summertime is nigh.
Though still-cool primrose evenings linger on from spring,
I listen for the sounds that warmer nights will bring:
crickets’ chirruping, whippoorwills in leafy trees. Sing,
oh lovely robin. Mockingbird, let me hear your charming croon.
Common loon, may I slumber to your haunting tune?
Sultry days mid-summer will be coaxing me to go
on long mid-afternoon walks to a yellow-flowered meadow.
Maybe I’ll go wading in cool water of a stream,
then lie beneath a willow and drift into a dream.
Fleeting is the sunny season; like my dreams, it too will end.
Then I will be writing of the beauty fall shall send.
Locked inside a summer dream that never ends
I am a breathing tree, a pushing flower, a seedling
Hemmed in by a sun that shines and never spends,
I am a rose in a garden, filled with mystical healing
Enfolded in the hour I am a sunny season of joy
laughing, giggling, scintillating, playing with the wind
Concealed with beauty that never ends nor deploys
I am June, July and August, rushing in without rescind
Immersed in the scent of sweet mulched fruits
I am an apple in the orchard of crimson cherry red
Soused in heat I dip into pacific waters find my route
I am all the things you can imagine in your head
Locked inside a summer dream that never ends,
I am hemmed by a sun that shines and never spends .
June is around the corner
and soon it will bring
the sound of the June bug
strumming it's wings.
The waters are warming and
swimsuits are in.
A wonderful sunny season will
soon begin.
Watermelon freshly sliced
a wonderful gathering of friends.
Company is so very nice as we
welcome May's end.
