York Theater Days

York University theatre days,
Studying with colleagues.

We became friends for awhile,
Learning about the theatre.

Making a minature stage setting,
Midsummer Nights dream.

An exceptional course,
With learning partners.

i had a very handsome man,
To study with, he had such a calm manner.

A joy to be with,
We went our separate ways after the class.

I continued to pursue my love of acting,
Took a course in the city of Toronto.

Had my photograph taken,
I wrote my resume and mailed that.

Years later I found out that you needed an agent,
My dream on the shelf.

They always say you should live your dream,
Stratford on Avon could guest.

I am actually very shy,
When I was married with young children.

I was chosen for the lead in the community theatre,
Put my lines on cue cards.

Wore the apricot dress i wore to my brother's wedding,
Played opposite a man of good standing.

My husband and children were in the audience,
That was a proud moment for me, then we all returned home.

The play was "Our Town" and very successful.
That will always be a good memory.

Juliet's Last Sonnet

Awaken from her maker's poison
Reality's her nightmare's reason
To run away from tombs that cover
The lifeless body of her lover

Barefooted... So free to love again
Waiting for him with red cheeks of rain
"The Globe" is empty, Romeo's gone
In Stratford -on - Avon she's alone

A tourist's place - the guide is pointing
A holographic disappointing
Fragmented Fate of a lonely swan
A deja vue ... I might be the one...

The stage lights died, applause in echoes
The curtain falls on ghosts of heroes...

for John's contest " Shakespearean Sonnet"

The Stage

I appear on the stage,
A young actress,
Chosen because she was young and beautiful,
Learning the words to a great play,
A companion to man,
A diversion of intelligence,
Dialoging with excellence,
A talent discovered after many years,
Memories of elementary and secondary talents,
Movements on God's stage,
Well co-ordinated,
Respectful and appreciated,
The audience is silent,
Listening to every word,
Stratford-on-Avon,
A beautiful memory,
Where great actors and actresses perform,
A continuous stage at university,
The wisdom of acting,
God's setting and characters coming to life,
Enhanced living and blessings.
