             The cozy, round, garden table,
             In that smoky Columbian cafe.
A time long ago, and far away.

Let’s go back in time, we’re able.
The dance floor, we happily purvey,
In this country, let us joyfully stay!

In our house, your head I will cradle.
Your Latin eyes, still make me sway.
I truly vow, with you, I will forever stay!

April 5 Get a sport into a poem Make Baseball Great Again!

April 5—Get a sport into a poem!

Make Baseball Great Again!

It is time
to make American baseball
Great again

starting with creating a worldwide
baseball competition
with each season
with the national champions

competing in a World Cup World Series
with the final round pitting the
North American Champions
against the winners of Africa,
Asian, Europe, and South America

with the final rounds
best of seven
always held in the U.S.

The other things to do
include rapid expansion plans

including the MLB teams
adopting local schools and colleges
fully funding baseball programs
and only hiring college graduates.
as players.

and making tickets affordable
no more than ten dollars per game!

if they do this,
we can make baseball
once again the best sport
in the U.S.

Let’s all join together
to make baseball great again!

Premium Member Vagabond

"The Vagabond life is the logical life to lead if one seeks the intimate knowledge of the world we are seeking." Richard Halliburton

The vagabond walked down my street.
He was a pleasure to meet.
He told me how far he had come,
And how he enjoyed living like a bum.

In Africa, he found where the Nile River began,
Located in a country called Sudan.
The vagabond found tall Pyramids to explore,
And the elephants and giraffes were hard to ignore.

Next, he moved on to Spain,
Where he found himself in a cool, refreshing rain.
He saw nudity on the beach,
And in Running of the Bulls, he was just out of reach!

Next on his list was Brazil, via boat.
In the Amazon River, he took a float.
The vagabond cheered and yelled at a game of football,
And danced the night away at the Rio Carnival.

Finally, he traveled through Mexico to the USA,
And that is where I met him today.
He said his travels are far from being done.
The vagabond will travel to each state just for fun!

Autumn Back Home

You opened the side door,
it was autumn back home,
something said you might love me,
the way i wanted it then,
and we drove around the countryside,
while your phone just kept ringing,
and you put it aside.

A man's voice was yelling,
on the old answering machine,
saying
"What are you doing?"
and you turned it down low.....

I came back to see you three more times,
right before
my daddy died,
and everytime i left
I sat down and cried,

til one day you told me
the man's jealousy roared
making you miserable,
it couldn't be ignored,

then I saw you for one fleeting
moment,
a hug on the cusp
of summer solstice,

that steady rock of winter
once more dissolved
like a ghost
of a Christmas past,

I saw your Hawaiian shirt
a banner of color,
a relentless enigma
in the corner
of daddy's funeral,

til you said if we had breakfast
it would have to be on route one,
tucked away from any eyes
who might tell

that raging voice
on the phone
with the accent
from South America
that you just might
have a secret.

Premium Member Want To See Colorful Bullfrogs

In my world toads are brown and frogs are green.
So South America has something I have never seen.
Their frogs are pink, red, yellow, polka dotted and blue.
They have poison frogs. Does this scare you?

Because I want to go down there, so I can see.
Frogs in living color, I think they would delight me.
I do not want a bite from a poison frog though.
Maybe I should stay here, and you should go.

You could take a camera and send me pix.
This is on the level, not one of my selfish tricks.
I am willing to pay twenty-five for your extra bag.
I wish you would do this for me. This is not a gag.

Premium Member We Parrots

We travel in flocks
Hidden in colorful trees
Loving warm places
We hail from
Mexico, Central and South America

Our plumage is bright
We have high pitched calls
We forage on flowers
Most of them are not as colorful
or as brightly dazzling as we are

Christmas colored feathers
Strong beaks, and active lungs
We make ourselves known
In Australia; we may let you glimpse us.

We are showy and proud
Loving our rich gorgeous plumage
We are like drag queens who entertain
Crowds in New York and Chicago

Premium Member Sights On the Other Side of the World

There are people on the other side of the world
Whom I will probably never meet or know
People who will have no idea who I am

There are sights on the others side of the world
That I have read about and seen photos of
Sights that may or may not really be there.
How would I know?

There are animals I will never see or hear.
For all I know unicorns and dragons live in Africa.
It’s not like I have been there or will ever go.

There could be giant crabs in South America.
Man-eating crabs in bioluminescent colors.
I do not doubt it.

I ponder the wonders of the world which I will never see
And I smile, for it is fun to imagine all of them and more.

A Beautiful Latin Girl

A BEAUTIFUL LATIN GIRL

From South America I
Find a girl gifted and
endowed with beauty
My humble Latin woman
Of great and terracious honour

Eyes like a tempest blue sea
So pure and chaste
Like Adriatic sea.

Soft body like dew on
Evergreens Flowers
So clean without blemish
Black hairs like a fur

So long like the Nile
Attractive like a magnet
Thousands heart it melts
A woman filled with intelligence

So calm and meek
Tender like a lamp
Not a peacock
So humble and brave

Oh Latin girl
Naturally endowed
With amazing figure
And enormous melons
That supplies quality nutrients.

Like a juice
With spaces between
Her actions
As shade for whoever
She marries

Angelic Latin shinny girl
Like an ivy
Tall like mount Everest
With head to the sky

She is a Latin girl
Can't you see her beauty
I wish you can get one
A latin girl.

His Eyes

Woah
when those eyes meet mine
my brains are scrambled, insides liquified
no, they evaporate completely
butterflies don't live in South America,
they live inside of me
filling me
my stomach, my throat my chest cavity,
choking on hundreds of little monarch wings
breath escapes me
i never knew my heart would jump to escape my body
this is ecstasy
no
this is an affliction
i feel alive, i wanna die
isn't that a contradiction
but when those eyes meet mine
you don't look at me, you see me
you don't exist for power,
you don't exist to live out your wildest dreams,
you don't exist to see better days,
you don't exist for currency,
you exist to love, and to be loved by me

please never stop

Premium Member Visiting Dominica

We have no international airports but it is worth the trip
So put on your adventurer’s hat and figure out a way.
Dominica is the only place in the world you will see
A green sisserou or a red-necked parrot day to day.

You want hot springs? Try our marvelous Boiling Lake.
We have lush mountainous rain forests at the “Isle of Beauty.”
Our variety of flora and fauna cannot be duplicated anywhere else.
Making your trip worthwhile is our pleasure, our sacred duty.

Dominica is part of an island chain in the Caribbean, tis true.
We were settled by the Arawak from South America long ago.
Called the “Nature Island of the Caribbean" is our pleasure, boo.
Come see our sperm whales and spinner dolphins. None are slow.

Like other secluded islands, we are host to rare plants and animals.
A river for every day of the year, a total of three hundred and sixty-five.
Geothermal volcanic activity still forms us, so you can witness that too.
When you visit the Dominica, you will feel you are truly alive!

Premium Member Coffee

Without a little bit in their morning cup,
most people find it difficult to wake up.
Before leaving the house and heading for work,
they put a scoop in the pot and let it perk.
Making a quantity of the homemade brew,
is what most morning risers will do.
Nearly all the ground beans come from South America,
specifically from nations like Brazil and Colombia.
Just remember when you consume your quantity each day,
the beans to make your beverage came a long, long, way!

Premium Member Kitty and the Blue Butterfly

The kitty with the greenest eyes
Opened them to a huge surprise
For her blue butterfly friend had come back.
She was attached to her nose, that’s a fact!

Well hello, the kitty said quietly, to not offend.
Where have you been, my butterfly friend?
I have been to South America, the butterfly said.
It’s nicer there, for there are fewer dead.

Premium Member The Swimming Panther From Brazil

On camera they caught a black jaguar crossing the Amazon in plain day
he was black and sleek and swam like an otter with motion and sway

Head of the wild life foundation was present ready to capture with lens
a special moment that at first looked like a crocodile, this made no sense

Black jaguars are near threatened species in Central and South America
so this big cat swimming the waters of Brazil was more then just la di da

They estimate only 600 black jaguars are left, so it was smart to mention
the footage and raise awareness in order to promote their protection

It was a pretty smart move for that jaguar to pick that boat to swim near
I hope they will survive for I think they are creatures to admire not fear.

At Sea

A cook at sea

The sea is restless and white-crested
It moves the ship up and down and sideways
Broad legged the cook tries to keep order
With dancing pots and pans.

He dreams of roses but is surrounded by steel
He knew of better times, south America.

The cruel tempest starts after lunch
When in his bunk tries to sleep but is tossed about,
He has been on his feet since six o’clock.
Hopes the sea will calm before the evening shift.
