A Delightful Soul {solfege}
Lets start with DO (Dough}
Then go RA Me
I’m hillbilly as you can see
Little fa and a great big SO
LA is forever in my soul
TI as in time it is getting late
Do as in don’t forget your fate
DO
RA
ME
FA
SO
LA
TI
DO
Put a w at the end of dough
D to b and you will have a bow
Since I have no idea what I try to do
A little shape in the middle for you
Start with it deep - End with it high
Find the sweet spot - And reach the sky
Dough on the bottom - Dough on the top
Master the scale the Dough doesn’t stop
The inventor of Solfege don’t you know
Is a beautiful person with a delightful soul
For Izzy's contest though I have no
idea at all if this is even in the ball
park at all.

Just a Dream
DOugh is my motivation when I'm workin' in the hot RAys of the desert sun.
If it where up to ME I'd prefer to relax on the soFA and be one---
with my thoughts SO I can truly feel clear and dream free.
And hum LA TI DA as I sit back and sip my ice tea.
Then I realize I'm still in that heat only to get my DOugh in that desert sun.
(My attempt at Solfege)

Alone In a Hospital Room - An Alzheimer's Song
Don’t you remember, love, how we danced that first night;
beneath the sun’s rays, toes dipping in the cooling sand,
to the tune of our favorite song –
with me humming the best I could –
(I sounded terrible, but you told me I sounded divine, remember?)
while falling all over myself, and your delicate feet;
and you, trying so hard not to laugh as I made such a fool of myself!
Did you ever think we would go
from being love-sick teenagers dancing on the beach,
to a couple of old-timers reminiscing
about our best years – our long ago days together?
Honey?
Sweetheart, please…
If there is any part of that teenage girl
left within that beautiful head of yours…please;
please, just look in my eyes as you once did…
look at me, sweetheart…
Don’t you remember?
My love, do you hear?
They’re playing our favorite song…
*Inspired by Izzy Gumbo's Solfege Contest
I really hope I did this right! :)
