Premium Member KILL THE PARROT
The words had no meaning
Just echoes repeating in its head
An arrogant squawking
Plumped feathers
Repeating mindless mantra
It all ended
The day he repeated
The savage shouts of
Of wingless wannabes
KILL THE PARROT

Messiah
A court required parents
To amend their baby’s name.
He can’t be called Messiah
For to some, it might inflame.

Messiah’s age is seven months;
He lives in Tennessee.
I guess for savior wannabes,
It’s not the place to be.

The laws are different state to state,
So parents should take heed –
If your state rejects Messiah,
It’s a miracle you’ll need....

Beware, social media's worldly platform,
Blameless, guilty wannabes shower esteem,
Heady headlines bathing in common manure.

Knowing one’s neighbour.

Selfie, groupies searching for public reason,
Poetry kindled reframed and lovers bonding,
Gossip transferred digital nonsense bemused.

Silence youth golden.

The Squirrel
The Squirrel
Agile, gray-brown fluff
burying acorns in the yarded scruff,
future mighty oak spawned nests of hope
stretched out branch trapezed along a tightrope,
chatter banter circular frolicking unfaint
 tail challenge waving screech complaints,
acrobatic voyeur of the crowned aerial topography
where forest backwood wilderness rise with progeny,
to accommodate and nurture eagle wannabes....

Melbourne Cup Day
Yes, it's the racing carnival,
Fashionistas so topical,
Significance trivial,
Lovely fillies,
Eye candy,
Drunk and silly,
Studs in suits,
Looking beaut,
Glitterati,
Haves and wannabes,
For the paparazzi,
Doyens of the racing industry,
You all look fabulous,
Gambling magnanimous,
Thoroughbreds' gloss,
Media hype and dross,
Great racing day,
Booze, bets and babes,
Stuff the plebs today,
Our public holiday,
Melbourne Cup Day!...

Freudian Field Day
A mental mind freak,
Or just your every day,
Run of the mill nut bar,
If you prefer.
Eloquently presented,
But not really.
Unless bat crap crazy
Dressed up as a pretty girl,
Is your cup of tea.
Making friends with the blade too much,
Making enemies with food even more.
Puff puff,
And there’s a pretty little smoke ring
From one of many chain smoked cigarettes.
Crazy you say?
Nope, most certainly not.
I’m just a bloody field day
For every one of those Freud wannabes....
