I pray the Lord my soul to keep;

My mind swims with thoughts of yesterday...
a day of unrelenting anguish and fist pounding sorrow
a day never to be forgotten
a day never to be relived again...
a day my heart, like a vase hurled against a granite wall,
shattered into a million pieces...
the day mother closed her eyes for the very last time
A dose of Love
I need a dose of you
I need a juicy kiss on the lip's
I need your touch on my skin
I need to see your smile
I need to see your eye's look me up and down
I need to feel your breath on my neck
I need to feel your hand's all over me
I need to hear your voice
I need a good dose of your love

CHICKADEE

Outside my window in a maple tree,
I saw the most beautiful Chickadee;
Seated on a bough, the little songbird,
Sang the sweetest song I’d ever heard;
The tiny bird’s song drew other birds near,
Creepers and Kinglets I could clearly hear;
When I grabbed my flute and began to play,
birds relinquished the bough and flew away.
Kissing you while your sleeping
Kissing you on mountain tops

Don’t show yours bra,
Shoulders are weapons too
Just some more body parts
Society has to rule
Can’t be too short or too tight,
You’ll look like a thot
No tattoos, no piercings
Your body is sacred art
By the end of this poem
They’ll have something to say
It’s not their fault society built them that way

Beautiful and fragrant is how we’re described
Yet they cut us, as soon, as we arrive
Crammed into vessels with limited space,
To put a smile on another one's face
They place us on tables, watch us decay
Then quickly toss, our fragments away
We sprout, then blossom, within days, we die
That is a cut flower’s cycle of life.
Imagine the indignity suffered
Whilst being told by someone
Not in the know
Why you are covering another

Because they would never
believe
