Reflection

My mind swims with thoughts of yesterday...
a day of unrelenting anguish and fist pounding sorrow
a day never to be forgotten
a day never to be relived again...

a day my heart, like a vase hurled against a granite wall,
shattered into a million pieces...

the day mother closed her eyes for the very last time

I never imagined her gone in the physical sense. It is still quite hard because I saw her everyday. It gives me comfort to know that death is not the end of our journey. I lost my dad 10 years ago and that was a devastating time for my family.You never get over the loss hower you just learn to live with out them . The blessing is they live on through us. I no longer have my mom or dad or other family members either, since I am in my advanced years. And when I lost my son to illness when he was 13, that was devastating! So I can relate to your poem.
