Upstate
Pressed inside my heart,
Her northern beauty lies—
A cold, burning canvas
Made bright again by tears....

A Gated Limerick
a gal with a very full plate
decided to leave love to fate
she had a ten year plan
and a sexy pool-man
at her house on the hill upstate...

A crude young fellow from upstate New York He never learned to handle a fork He jabbed at his food In fact, he was quite rude And he behaved like a back country dork.

Me
Holly
Silly, fun, petite, creative
Daughter of Carolyn
Lover of Harold, my children, my dog
Who feels pain, heartache, and some joy
Who fears snakes, spiders, and bugs
Who would like to see Europe, world peace, and no drama
Upstate, South Carolina

Dear Rhoda Part 2
As I said- L.I. was home to me up until about a year ago, when I made the
(oopps) mistake of moving upstate, near Poughkeepsie (Wappinger Falls, which
I call Foppinger Walls).... It is soooo boring!! No wonder I'm posting poetry 20
hours a day..... By the way, I'd never heard of Long Island Iced Tea till I went to
Arizona a few years ago. Talk about puttin' starch in your socks!! regards Tom...

Premium Member cabbage woman
I like my vegetable women raw, raw, raw
This was sung by the local lah-dee-dah
He is a jokester from upstate near McCaw
We did not know if he meant “rah rah rah”
Or did he mean rather “raw raw raw”.

The vegetable women rolled their eyes.
They were unhappy for sure, no big surprise.
One was a cabbage woman full of ants and flies.
She had lots of ideas, but many were not wise.
Never liked the lah-dee-dah she said to the sunrise....

Where We Belong
Piece of calm
In this
World of chaos
Breath of relief
While grasping
For a single gulp
Of air
The grounded green of
Spring
Of hope rising
Of life reborn
To the burning passions
Of the flame
Full of power and energy
That can take it
All down
The silence
At 3am
With the moon
In the horizon
To the clamorous city
People making their
Way upstate
At noon
With the sun
Beaming down upon them
All
The balance
Between it all
Where they belong...

Moody Black's People
surrounded by incredibly
talented
oracular
spectacular individuals
bonded by word
spoken
yet heard to the third....
Power!
awake
within the stillness
this hour
harmonically invested
spiritual benevolence
fuels their army of relevance

the rarest people you'll meet
standing up for freedom
feet to the street
sharing their fearless soul
with body and mind aligned
complete
in control

*(dedicated to Moody Black's Upstate S.C. Poetry team, and Dr. Richard Moss)...
