struggle to load her

into the back of the truck....

Woke up from a poor night‘s sleep an utter wreck.
I had to be to work by eight, but what the heck?
The clock said 12; the real time was eleven.
That alarm clock wasn’t even plugged in!

On vacation and no worries in my head.
I woke up in an unfamiliar bed.
In my hometown, at my mom’s, sleep was the best
With eight uninterrupted hours of sweet rest!

I swept up what had been a total bird
Along with cigarette butts and candy wrappers. 

The bird had battered its mobile definition
Against a still and solid wall of glass,

And I, who move through this commercial maze,
Amid these sudden barriers, can pray
To not be smashed by clear appearances....

Effulgent wide cerulean sky, 
migrating bar-headed geese soar high. 

Meadows of pink, yellow, orange, blue, 
and red, wildflowers blend in green hue. 

The smell of pine and wealth of clean air, 
utter excitement, a love affair. 

Lost in a lounge dream of my choosing,

the earth
