There was a young man bought a pangolin
but thought it was a mandolin
to be played like a violin
he tipped its scales 'til they creaked
tweaked its tail so it squeaked
and named the bow Anne Bowleyn

Daphne wants her dreams tweaked
Angeline has unresolved Father Daughter
relationship issues
Betty has had a small op
but now only wants friends
Who are they trying to kid ?
with this talk of personal salvation

We are creatures of habit in a changing world
Not wanting to stray but not able to stay
Where patterns and norms aren't ever constant
And morals are tweaked or just done away.
Even habits change, now how is that sane,
When habits are meant to stay the same?

Why?
By: Tom Wright
8/9/2006
In childhood,
The answers we often sought
were punctuated by a mother’s sigh.
Years later,
With memory tweaked
This conundrum again we still decry.
Finally our years,
Seared by the winds of time
Reveal the answer to our question why?

Lyric
Open space, flat land, horizon drowning
Words, words wearing boxing gloves
Some have mitts on, some in a straight jacket
some are rebellious teenagers, careless
Carefree words, freedom, roaming everywhere
In this open space, waiting for a new prey
Some tweaked, some bend, some corrupted
Some alluring, some repulsive
Some saving, some taking
In this open space

Personification
Upon arrival Forest Antler Ghost of the Oaks shook the leaves
She tweaked some of the mosses, so they were a bit springier
She gave love to the woodland violets and mushrooms
The north wind and the oaks always sensed her arrival.
They spruced themselves up a bit; the faeries were unsure
They felt something but were not able to fully see her.
The elves brownies and forest imps figured it out first,
mayhap due to their close affinity with woods.

Verse
I nailed this contest with a poem that has punctuation
for ease of read rather than confusing line implications.
I composed a free verse feeling rush that soars with
heart sentiment grounds that I tweaked until profound.
Do check out my ew-la-la imagery, subtle flippancy,
smooth flow that ideally rolls to tighter grab as it goes.
My write ignites awe to wiggly with words brilliantly
alert, not unclear bit blurts, possibly boredom fraught.

Is what you read rigged,
Or what you see photoshopped
And what you hear tweaked,
Manipulated by the Enemy of our souls
Who loves to make holes,
Then tears until all shreds,
Bleeds, doubts and dreads"
Where is the big picture of God
Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent?
Trust your sense of peace,
Your drive to survive,
The need to plead;
To ask Him who knows and created
Life! Himself, as Life and pure Love.
There is a peace in Him,
Then come the joy!

If aliens took Neanderthals
And tweaked their little brains
Making them just smart enough
To work with little complaint
The answers to my questions
During this exhausting search for truth
Would be revealed when I look around
And behold the living proof
Like hybrids that man creates
To harvest for our use
Be it vegetable, decorative
Or trees for bearing fruit
The smile that comes to my lips
When I see her from afar
Is knowing that a 'Space Monet"
Created the sweetest smelling flower
