Life Springs Back
Frozen winter fear
melts in nectar streams.
torpor days are gone
at last mist dissolves
in sunbathing clouds.

Painting unveils
smile of nature.
Monalisa
stirs our senses.

Rose trellised
song lyrics
dance in love

Bird's nest
springs back

Nature Freaking Out
Greenish meadows, stony benches
Doves and crows toilet in bunches
Huge turnout..

Without fear of baited string bides
Flying fishes in lone seasides
From hideout..

Tree top squirrels wandered bottom
Like torpor kings in their kingdom
Free rollout..

Weeds and shoots sprouting from the soil
Dormant seeds sensing human spoil
They freakout..

Birds and beasts call on us to boo
World became a big human zoo
In stakeout.....

soon comes coffee’s steep
morning melody - no cheep
all robins asleep

3:30 - much too early, when i arose, to aeropress the grounds

soon the blessed send
of true wakefulness and blend
if my knees will bend

i will make my way out of torpor unless my eyelids beat me down

catch a dreamy cab
beg a few more zees ~ their fab
go for pillow grab

back under the covers for i’m yawning; not ready for the cockcrow

Lethal Injection
afloat in stupor, his mind falters,

with poisoned blood in every vein,

he aches to recall what to forget,

                                      forgets what to remember in vain;

though the torpor dulls his senses,

                          defiantly he sneers with meanness

               and effrontery to the authorities

now murdering him, blind Justice!...

Rude Awakening
Sun's in the sky, birds are on the wing,
wife's gone shopping, doing her thing.
Lawn needs mowing, things need to be fixed,
what to do first? My feelings are mixed.
One day you're a Prince, the next you're a pauper,
I'll just sit here in my afternoon torpor,
and ponder a while on life's vicissitudes,
the course of my life and it's various interludes.
That last glass of wine has made me quite dizzy,
Christ! She's back from the shops, time to look busy....

Rejoice Over the Victory
R-ejoice over the victory,
I-mmeasurable joy you feel;
C-omplete defeat of torpor
H-as brought a total thrill.
A-ugust sixteenth early morn,
R-ejoice over the big win;
D-elightful smile you wear, waning not through thick and thin.

C-herish the sweet success,
H-aving no time for pain;
A-fter all the sacrifices,
V-iew the sky, see no rain.
E-xpress your excitement, enjoy the birth of ecstasy;
Z-estfully thank the Lord, rejoice over the victory....

Cupidity
Should I speed my loving shafts, to see
them penetrate the blind periphery
of your happy unawareness,
Would you slam, with horror and with haste,
your portals of defence, with much distaste
at the wiles of such unfairness?

Or would those fragile barbs release sweet gall,
to rouse from slumberous state some answering call,
as one in sleep caressed -
Perfidious seeping of love’s wanton balm
to activate sweet turmoil in that calm
and brutal torpor in your breast....

As Rumple in blankets,
I vegetate in unfilled torpor,
Blind enervation adrift among
Extinguished stars, among dark
Torpid galaxies where I am a stranger.
I find only dead planets, windswept and barren,
Where molecules of a distant living past
Are vaguely recalled,
And where conceptions,
Convictions all collapse.
Exhaustion is an avalanche
Making no distinction between
vacuity and repletness.
Sleep believes nothing,
Not even the animated chatter of
My dreams....
