My cousin had such sweaty feet I hoped with new socks they’d smell sweet Much to my great chagrin They’ve not been on his skin … I’ve given up being discrete! When I wore a peg on my nose The topic of his feet arose - To get rid of the stink He washed them in the sink With talcum they smell like a rose! 10-20-17

Respect Our Good Neighbors
I saw a light on the side of the road
Shining like a star in the dirt
Dusty diamonds in the rough
Cosmic talcum in the night
Fey child
Old little Good Neighbor lost to this time

A Tender Touch
Dimpled cheeks tearless eyes
pouting lips beguiling smile
the scent of talcum powder blue
breath as fresh as the morning dew.

Tiny hands open up to light
warm and soft a baby's eyes
a single curl around fingers mother twirls
and wonders at this mystery untold.

a child a love so tender and rich
filling hearts with wonder and joy
of fathers and mothers___be it girl or boy...

Landscape
Watching the hills of emerald
above the cottage all aglow--
the night reaches a commanding lull
its talcum sand glints and shines,
a layered palette to behold
where rocks scintillate,
cascading through drips of dew .
I spy my bottle near wet marbles
and capture how the silhouettes play
contrasting the trees' grandeur,
lustrous as an artist's easel
holding the tints of colors--
splashing an unusual arena.
