Late in the summer
Along Walnut Creek
Dipping in the cool water
Watching the sun bleed
Lying with the sycamores
Climbing lofty trees
Twinning with the subtle wind
Along Walnut Creek

...Dearest Mother
Waters will cease,
the land becomes arid
brooks run dry
sycamores will wither away

Men will stumble
heroes will falter,
Legends may fall
But I will in earnest remain,

With a candle in one hand
and a box of pearls in the other
mummuring your name,
In the menacles of affection...

Premium Member Sycamore Stanchions
Sycamores standing bold and naked Leafless limbs facing the chilly breeze Without broad leaves appear wasted, Sycamores standing bold and naked As stanchions are almost over-rated, Still the most imposing of all the trees Sycamores standing bold and naked Leafless limbs facing the chilly breeze.

Premium Member News of Morning
As the golden sunshine greets a new morning,
I rise from bed refreshed and still yawning.
I cross the room lured through french doors,
By balcony blooms, green lake, and sycamores!

I delight in fragrance and in blissful views,
As I search eagerly for the golden day news.
Then barefoot I climb to the balcony railing,
Diving into clear green waters as birds sing!...

As It Comes
Have you ever felt a southern night?
The warm moonlight baptizes your skin
As you quickly befriend the ground.
Your ears are clasped by the choir
Of sycamores as the breeze runs its
Fingers through your hair.

Your mind grows legs and walks
Away from worry and fear.
To fall asleep would disappoint-
Because no dream can flood your
Body like this soft, southern night....

We must not rebuke the winds conspiring Together in early spring to bring us mirth The songs of trembling leaves inspiring We must not rebuke the winds conspiring The oaks and sycamores rapidly attiring Reminding us spring is the season of rebirth We must not rebuke the winds conspiring Together in early spring to bring us mirth.

Accommodation Of Seasons
David J Walker

Finally
The kind of cold that
Accommodates November
Arrives the day before
December sets in and
The last leaves of the sycamores
Have long ago
Presented themselves
To the winds to be
Carried beyond the vision of
A calendar
Autumn is old and weathered
No one talks about its colors now
And untethered
The Fall accommodates
The coming winter
Again...

Premium Member Tree Feelings of Love-
A kiss of midnight bliss
Holding hands as dawn dawning
Must be encouraging must be from above
True feeling of love

And embrace of afternoon Fair
Sunlight touching my forehead
Beautiful surroundings embracing me
Evening comes must be love

Elms embrace me
Sycamores adore
Apple pie eyes to see the rainbows in the skies
This is some of the true feelings of love

Premium Member New Hampshire Autumn
golden chestnut browns sparkling against natures reds and yellows
oaks, maples, sycamores, pregnant with autumn leaves
mammoth round topped giants peppering the countryside
climbed maybe in our youth, but many limbs are way up high

new hampshire is a showcase of beauty in october
before her mountains lose their variegated spotted leaves
walnuts, acorns and almonds are falling now
into the open paws of excited happy squirrels...

Sycamore
Sycamores
 are amazing trees
 shedding bark like skin
 removing dry and brittle layers
to reveal new pristine smooth pale green hues.

The bark peels and laps over
 like a tongue languishing,,
 thirsty,, panting in the Sun
and layering the trunk of patchwork design
 in a fresh clean quilting.

Hail to the Sycamores
 standing kingly tall
 unflinchingly in the wind
 reaching toward the sky
with triple crowns of leaves up high....
