Back home, I walk watering plants
Look to the hills, lifted up by His Hand
Busy painting another make-believe land

I amble along paths
rutted deeply
In the life
that I have fashioned.

Daylight dwindles, and as darkness descends
Night wakens, and clouds of hungry bats take
flight, hunting moths fluttering in the pale
moonlight, before Dawn ushers in daybreak.

Dew, like a trillion teardrops, falls right on
cue, and ebony supplants a sky of
blue; as the horizon blushes scarlet
while unveiled stars start to twinkle above.

Oblivious to the turmoil 
Stirred in a young mans chest
Tamed the beast in me 
Sublimating me
From my true desires
Quelling the fires
Redirecting my passions
Reemploying my sexual energy
So we partake
Of the socially acceptable
Exercise our creative bent
Until the time is right
That blessed moment
When love supplants lust 
And passions flame can burn
