Lento
Created by Lencio Dominic Rodrigues. A Lento consists of two quatrains with a fixed rhyme scheme of abcb, defe ...the second and forth lines of each stanza must rhyme and all the FIRST words of each line in each stanza must rhyme. There is no fixed syllable structure to the Lento, but keeping a good, flowing rhythm is recommended.

       

Daylight dwindles as darkness descends and night awakes, and clouds of hungry bats take flight hunting moths fluttering in the pale moonlight until Dawn ushers in daybreak. Dew, like a trillion teardrops, falls right on cue; soon ebony supplants a sky of blue, the horizon takes on a scarlet hue and twinkling stars start to shine above
