IRAQI BLOOD STORM

helicopters swarm
red dust like cake flour clings
 panic tastes like bile
 rising crescendo of screams
 sulphur clouds the reasons why

Sulphuric Poems

And I lose
In the sulphur
Of the loss.
I'm pushing forth,
All guile,
While all the while,
The world spins around.
Turning with it
Bursting
With light and sound.

What Are We Doing To Us?

What are we doing to our planet?
Processing oils,
pumping air with oxides;
be them sulphur,
or nitrogen gas.
Burning coals,
manufacturing chemicals.
Making acid rain -
burning our -
dumb ass!

We R Elements of Carbon

circular bands of pathetic
misfortunes broken
by the empowering
stretch of mighty
hands
clandestine candles of hope
reverse into an open
nest of trust
we are elements of carbon
hydrogen and sulphur...

Blazing Love

Red sky, grey stars
Hand in hand
Burning sulphur, heated flames
Kisses of death
Love purified, trust tested
The price to pay
Ashes of life, sparks of dreams
Her EROS his APHRODITE
Forgotten lovers, ignored curses
Love of flames; blazing love!

Culprit of Love

deep strata of yellow rocks
spreading the fumes of sulphur
hiding in the basement
of my tranquillised memory
for an investment of return
i am a culprit
culprit of love
sentenced to a life term
of labour in your
frigid tentacles of
manicured love

Do You Lie:

Why do people lie?
To those be worthy of truth
Why do people hold to lies?
When the ropes are too short
I wish I were Chrishany in THE SLEEPING EVIL
That I could read their minds
For no one would ever lie to me
I hate lies
Because the HOLY BOOKS says so
And those who lie will burn in sulphur fire
ETERNALLY

The Taste of Silence

THE TASTE OF SILENCE

Noisy salt and sulphur at creation
Made the world’s taste perfect;
But here in my garden it is still.

A tenderness of snow floats to earth -
Down, soft like ducks’ down.
Under the dense hedge
The cat sleeps in velvet silence,
And the snail takes his stroll
Beside the bulging crocus.

The quietude tastes primeval.

A Moment of Silence

A moment of silence
tells the untold tales -
The screams of the soldiers on battlefield
As they risked their lives
To defend their father's land
With their sweats mixed with blood,
Their feet danced to the dreadful tune of land mines,
They fed on the scent of burning sulphur-
Their body drenched in rain of bullets
And an ode to the ground
That kissed them to sleep.

Let Us Live For a While

Would you be able to face the mirror?
with a fake smile of greed
Would you be able to march forward?
though your blood drenched street
Would you take your child to that park?
where sulphur used to spark
or to that school or graveyard where
there are healing bullet marks

The naughty ''little boy'' is dead
And Buddha forgot to smile.

Please humans let us live
..... at least for a while......

Dawn and Dusk For Anneke Van Giersbergen

Dawn and Dusk (for Anneke van Giersbergen)
In the dawn of silence,
a pattern of words falls exhaustively upon the shattered shards of sulphur,
on this end dawn.
It begins now,
an event of no significance.
Why is it remembered?
Who will be there to remember
if God doesn't exist to create people?
Who's to say anything happened at all?
You?
There was no event.

Humanity's Story

Once upon a time,
When love knew –
No bounds and shackles
We dwelt in Eden

Then, the genesis of the ego
Spewed wide open Pandora’s Box
And its burdens and horrors
All, adventurously, flew forth

Now all humanity is in wake
Of a teardrop they await
Straight from heaven’s gates
Pondering over the Lord’s grace

But lead and sulphur,
Stirred in a lake – do burn
Where all hell is unleashed
Upon the earth from beneath.

From Hills To Mills

Industry stole those splendid hills
By taking fields and building mills.
Down in each vale man's cauldrons brew
Spewing out soot and see-o-two.

But even worse was vile venom.
The days of acid rain had come
As brimstone coal made sulphur fume
That in the raincloud formed a plume.

And back-to-back by chimney stack
Defined the world in shades of black.
The jet, the soot, the anthracite.
From all black bright there shone midnight.

Striking Portrait

A silvery,
fluting cry of a sleepless moon
on the pillow of a twilight sleep :
an enigma I wanted to share
with a skylark.

From the disbelief rises a sulphur
cloud to thaw the ice on the tongue of a dawn.
First ray of sunlight starts flirting,
with a dew drop on a wet rose.

It was not a poem but a thought
crossing a bridge into eternity,
for a sparkle in the pain of life,
a hymn to be recited without understanding
the meaning.

The Years Pass

The years pass – wings –
the valleys grow
and the picks lose the silhouette clear.
Who’s hitting furiously the horses young,
the sky who has there lit?
Not me! Not me!
Me and you, sat on a short shore
along the path, sunk in myrtles
and we’re looking at the love,
in that endless mirror.
And somewhere young girls
are singing a refrain in low voice
and giant woods are losing root.

Horses are tearing in sulphur and volcanoes.
Inside of me – the sea is murmuring.

Between the Lines

Taste the sulphur in the air
Always such a burning affair
Killing us all blinding everyday
Every soul here is internally

More and more shop up each day
Enjoying the fell of the morning heatwaves

There is no way out from this wondrous place
Oh how I love the feel of my melting face

Hear is where I will remain
Enjoing what's left before I go insane
Life is pointless without an arrow to point to a path
Leaving this would be sweet but I love the feel of walking through the ash
