Neon colours dance atop mirrored puddles,
Spectacle, iridescent artwork,
Blemished only by the rain

Iridescent Birds-of-Paradise
do their extravagant mating dance.
Wondrous spectacle before my eyes
as they pirouette and prance.
Beautiful music warms my cochlea
Awesome footwork amuse my cornea

Embrace that stormy sea of
superlative spectacle.
a fountain of magnetic light
gushes forth from our fontanel
we behold the spectacle in delight
gripped in rapture by its magical spell

Sans actor,
there is no theater,
sans gladiator
there is no Coliseum,
sans audience
there is no spectacle
without love,
there is none of that,
and no life...!
I'm finished with living by spectacle
It cripples my heart with disgust

Third Place
Cassiopeia reclined on her cosmic beach,
Longing for Orion so out of reach.
He was showing off to the stars,
As he spiked the Moon over Mars,
Wondering what next Venus would teach.
There was an optician somewhat blind
Whose patients found him easy to malign.
So he gave rose-colored glasses
A move that calmed the masses.
Now his practice has become sublime.
A starry night is twinkling above
Each twinkle is a star expressing our love
A gracious spectacle
Numbers are limitless
Such a glittering display gives me a rush
