In my distant childhood

we raced small coracles,
formed from walnut shells;
down rivulets in gutters
of our smoggy streets....

Beijing Is Becoming Smoggy
They made a pile of yellow leaves and burnt them...
They thought they were dead...
But
why did you do this to hearts?....

Beijing is becoming smoggy
You may taste blood in the air......

Premium Member I Taught Her That
She swirled her gases in the prettiest way
Appearing smoky and smoggy, like a ball of ice
The sky lit up at as it watched her go,
Vibrant robe trailing in a flourish of stars
No one made an exit like Luna,
I taught her that whispered an entity unseen
I scoffed at Zeus’s audacity...

A Misty Autumn Evening
Smoggy, foggy, damp and cloggy,
cloyingly moist, feeling soggy,
lost in a shroud of stratus cloud
muffling the voices of the crowd.
Whirling, swirling, wraith-like curling,
absorbing the light, as dark unfurling
it reflects the moak, thick as smoke
all life hidden in its nebulous cloak....

Turning ...
I turned around
     in the rain
misty haloed street lamps
shadowed you
     drizzled

I turned around
     in my sadness
to see moments of we
fog smoggy
not in truth I don’t think

I turned around
     in your leaving
clarity spilling from eyelashes
wondering
     if you were simply a
state of mind...

Gnarled Roots
I've turned away from the city of my years

                            still it keeps on dinning its dins in my ears;

                                                   neon nights,

                                                 smoggy sights,

the gnarled roots of who I am, my joys, my fears....

Vision In a Dream
( vision in a dream )

Always moaning,
In the last gasp! the vision.

Moaning, so! I decamp;
lonely,far and away
Amid - smoggy haze.
Sharpen a pulse
by sorrow.

Moaning, then weakly!
In the midst of
the adjacent tide of certainty,
I taste the bitterness of grief.

Ah _ O uncertainty _
If you only protecting me
from doubting insanity,
of my dream !...

Moaning Memories' Throb
draped zeal dripped
smoggy crest clipped
callous crest squashed
training taunted trance
felon feelings fiery
licking lanky crisp

punctured passion pressed
met mystic press
moaning pressed' press

haughty zeal hankered
sane seal smothered
voluptuous veil angered

porous pasts absorbed
moaning memories' throb.

Written: December 25, 2023 ___________________________________ The phone did ring; can you hear? Pillowing loss cursed by fear. Drowning in distraught remorse, Smoggy how we fell off course. Once saffron shades burnt our path, now murky vines choke with wrath. days and nights drudge on insane, Black cherry cold fills the veins.

Callous Harmattan Clutched
bounty body blushing
heaving hoisted hankering
under tainted touch
callous harmattan clutched
felon feelings fostering
damped desires drooling

smoggy soles scrunching
gaunt hands groaning
laced lips whitening

la-de-da limbs lurching
voluptuous treachery vying
indifferent services squashing

damped faces drying
nocturnal nature smirking.

Look You Poor City
10-19-12

Look you poor city!
At the depravity at hand
Lacking the lover of creation
But fill’d in menacing, smoggy tears
Gutters of murkiness swell thy tongue
Conceiv’d only by the generation
Virus spread—leaving dead
All hope of resurrection
Look at thy doom!
And smell thy rancid fumes
Constru’d in rapid sensitivity
All consciousness glu’d
I ache to find a street
That groweth life—and hope of it

Ache no more as one
But change in unison!...

Silver Linings
Through disaster she stops her pining
There may just be a silver lining
Her lifeblood no longer quickly drains
From her old and deep and weary veins
No longer does it hurt to breathe
No smoggy air to make her wheeze
Regaining sight and through the tears
She hadn’t seen the stars for years
Skin once wrinkled begins to heal
And younger she begins to feel
For a while, she thinks, it will be easier
As Mother Nature sits and takes a breather…...
