No sweeter thing was ever heard

The advent of the spoken word

Soft notes on high from angels sung

Heaven by a slip of the tongue...

     or for lack of same on the gallows is hung...

A Husband Falters
Better take his wife to lunch
after what he said yesterday.
A slip of the tongue.

I lay here in darkness
and wait for your call...

He called it “The World Serious,”
Not meaning to be slick;
With all the hype surrounding it,
We’ve let that label stick.

And so we watched the Royals lose
Despite a rousing fight.
They sure looked serious to me,
The proof my son was right!...
