Premium Member Great Again
GREAT AGAIN

We've not fought a war since WW 2
But deadly skirmishes haven't been a few
Whenever we fight a war and win
And make America great again
We'll preserve the Red, White, and Blue...

Mother Mary weeps for her children; her tears are soul-ambrosia. Skirmishes and wars have taken their toll; innocents are slaughtered. Her tears wash away the bloodstains; her guidance, gives hope.

Blue Veil
Blue veil skirmishes its shadow.
Witness recalls object to matter of law.
Judges undecided no ruling made certain of flaw.
Weakness in difference as higher courts rules
Unrevealing blue hiding its shadow.
Just a little distortion angled crowd of tumbles.
Still meets our expectations to guarantee rounds.
All respected decision quietly bow self destructions....

Premium Member Where Is My Steed
Where is my steed the king asked his wife
She kind of knew but she valued her life
She lied a bit guiding him to an unsuspecting patron
Steed joined her at court, dressed as a pretty matron.

Steed was tired of skirmishes, battles and war.

Premium Member The Cockerel
        Strutting a glowing plumage;
. The cockerel stood akimbo,
Lord of the manor, realm in view,
          All the hens rambunctious,
       As unease pervades the realm,
          Skirmishes here and there.
                   Lo, above the sky
          A marauding crow, swooping,
           Swooping and picking a hen,
In the realm of the cockerel,
. For a meal, a meal fit for a crow....

The Dilution of Memory
The Dilution of Memory.

Embers fade,
disappearing into hushed night.

Petals wither,
falling on soft grass.

Words pale,
obscured by anguish within.

Faces blur,
dimmed by galloping years.

Kisses lose,
the urgency of bygone furnaces.

Feelings recede,
lying dormant in shielded vaults.

Love loses,
fatigued after numberless skirmishes.

Pain flees,
seeking new wounds to inflict.

Scars remain,
sentinels against,

the dilution of memory...

Memorial Day 2025
Day to remember those who perished
In wars and skirmishes abroad
Let their images be cherished
By those who knew them from the squad

To pin a pennant of "Old Glory"
In earth where heroes lay in rest
Their lives were short, but what a story
May their memories be blessed

Let's honor them as time is going
We move afar from battles fought
They gave it all, and we're bowing
Our heads; in angst, respect and thought

May 26, 2025
