Check, Check, Check
Leaving the house to go to work,
making sure I have,
my car keys,
my house keys,
extra money,
my cup of coffee,
a notebook,
a picture book,
a juice box,
my cell phone
and I am ready to go....

America the Beautiful But With Millennial Angst
Oh dutiful, foreboding debt
That I know I must pay

For education I must get
To pad my resume

And yet I feel like I've been robbed
For now it sadly seems

That I can barely get a job
Let alone one of my dreams...

From the Latin credo = I believe
The first word of the Apostle’s Creed became
The name of various formulas of the Church’s profession of faith

It can be translated “I AM WHO I AM”
For Jews as well as Christians
It designates the one God of the whole world

The Pencil
Every child in school owns a pencil
Used for bringing out a writing skill

It always goes with the sharpener
So it writes clearly on a paper

Sometimes it styles in many colors
Also smells in different flavors

In school it is very important
Need to have this not only for want...

In K-5, K-8 or K-12 is drained
    the curiosity from eager brains

Then off to college most folks go
where Truth is disseminated from Moscow

  A nursing home's a spruced-up jail
from which residents would love to bail ...

In between, we're on the job every day
    where we're overworked and underpaid...

My Hobby
When I start to write,
I scribble what's on my mind.

Sometimes I have no idea what my pen puts on paper,
But in the end it all comes together.

I can be paying attention in class,
But when a rhyme pops in my head, school work comes last.

Right now, writing is something I love to do.
Who knows, maybe one day I'll fall in love with something new....

A New Day, Same Style
again I sit in the seat of a student, back to being a kid.
back to the realities of life, in which I have hid.
again come the papers and exams
back to the all nighters and study crams
again set outside of this basic mold
back to the iron bars, secluded and cold
I am who I am, set outside of the box
my mind is my own, and my thoughts are unlocked...

Premium Member In the Future
When I finally stop doing schoolwork
I can start to create my future plans
Those that I have always dreamed lovingly
Making websites for many wanting one
Money will start flowing back to me now
As I will be making what clients want
My dream, my future, my ideal life
But first I must do what I need to do
Finish my schoolwork and get my degree

Premium Member Mis-Educated
Nursey school and kindergarten
were filled with hours of play

'Graders' first through third
  the 'Three R's' all day

The rest of school was one big blur
  some teachers - ma'am; others - sir

When we finished college at age 22
we felt ready, thought we knew what to do

Only to find disappointment in our workplace debut
~ What we'd learned all those years just wouldn't do...

Teach I
To those of us that love to teach

Take kids away,
even if
they stay.

Stories, music, objects,
and thoughts
are what we play.

We can write,
speak, draw,
or act.

Become the place
and the thing.
Now write about us
in that place.

"I am the wind, I like to blow things."

Whatever we want
to think or be
is okay.

Make a living meadow
or a bear.

"GrrRRR!"

Take kids away
even if
we stay......

Missed my submission of poem in the first PS anthology
I think I was travelling that time or in a very long journey
Second submission, I think I’ve missed because I was so busy
Perhaps focused on my school work, no one had pinched me
Third submission, now announcements around I see
But which of my poems is/are worth for publication, can you tell me
I think I need an editor, can you help me my dear mentors of poetry?

To Teach
To teach is to touch
the mind of a child
when to others what's taught
sometimes seems mild

To teach is to touch
the heart of a child
to know it's all worth it
when one child has smiled

To teach is to touch
the life of a child
to hope as they grow
they won't be so wild

To teach is to touch
the warmth of a parent
so when they leave them
they can grin and bare it

To teach is to know
that we've done our best
to show these children love
and the way to success...

Premium Member Dragons Lead Me To My Destiny
the insistent dragons are back
I watch them fly over Gibraltar hill.
Outside petunias are crowding toward the house
There is a castle waiting for me in the distance

I move closer to the lace curtains.
Wanting to get a better look at my destiny.
Find myself staring at the woman I will be one day.
She gives me a resigned look.

Teddy bear sidles closer, and I cuddle him.
My school work can wait.
The dragons have a message.
I strain to hear, to understand, to be the real me....
