Premium Member Just Peachy

The moon ripe as a Georgia peach,
plopped itself upon the blue-blackened,
scalloped edge of the deciduous forest,
topping the syrupy squiggle of horizon
as it bled into the blue velvet night.

Premium Member fancy pants cat

Fancy Pants Cat wore a scalloped brocade suit
When he walked, his tail gave out a magic toot
The rest of us were amazed by his blue top hat
He was a very endearing flatulenct friendly happy cat.

Premium Member The Black Cats Gone Bats

Scatter-howl, the black cat’s gone bats.
Scalloped fur-spikes at peak heights.
Pumpkin candlelight holds extinguished fright.
The gourd-tomb tightly pinned.
Triple threat of fang’d mosquito bites.
Dare not men enter within Dracula's whim.

Premium Member Crisp Wind Dips Low

crisp wind dips low…
     trembling on hammock
  of rosette sky

     along vast dome…
  feathery air ripples
        like scalloped leaves

 winged azure glints…
     lifting tufted veil
 in autumn’s dance

Distinctions

Indistinct things
In night’s malaise
Mar morning haze.
We slowly die
Across far sky
On scalloped wings.

September hones
Away the nights—
Blur city lights—
Bleach pale claw marks
Above brown parks
Fading to bones.

Summer now flees—
Blanch indigo
Of afterglow—
Patina wind—
Yesterday’s sin
Of twisting leaves.

A Moment

I watch the Finches fly float flutter dive
across the field they chirp and sing
yellow in color they dot the tops
of the thistle among other natural things
making scalloped patterns as they glide
gracefully moving through the sky
a tiny moment from the day that
helps my troubles fade away.

Premium Member Crazy Crow was not Born Yesterday

Crazy crow flew in loops and whorls
Flying pattern as scalloped as mama’s curls
Wee witch said he’s the familiar for me
Invited him to sup on blueberry afternoon tea

Crazy crow flew in the window, around the kitchen twice
The cat said “he looks marvelous, I think he’s nice.”
She truly thought he looked plump and tasty too.
When the crow saw this fat cat, away he flew….

Premium Member Lets Take Naps

Sammy asked grandpa what he could do for fun
I take naps and dream, and it is marvelous!
Dreaming sounds boring, Sammy said.
I will tell you some stories about my childhood
That sounds great!
They ate a large lunch of roast beef,
Mashed potatoes, scalloped corn, carrots and peas
Pecan and cherry pie.
Soon they were both snoring away,
Having marvelous dreams
Maybe naps were not so boring.

Premium Member Scalloped Coast Line

Scalloped coast line
Being touched gently by the continous lap
Of ocean's salt water
Just being in your place soothes my mind

Sandy shore colored by the tide's height
Just repose, doze just feel the touch
Of the water, lapping your back
Time is of no essence for it just is

Tidal pool high on the rock
God designed you to just be
To sustain life of tiny, tiny
Living beings essential to others

The Sunflower

By what magic did the carver use?
Did he shave and chisel you from wax?
Did he chop and hammer you from wood?

You with your never ending rein
you stand calm and serene
your bountiful face brilliant yellow
with scalloped petals and clustered seeds.

You who greet the mornings and pray to the night
your mighty stock a deep-green with
downy that hugs away the cold
what was used to bring you to life?

Premium Member Rough Shod

A floor of dead rusted leaves rustle and crackle
Crunching their crisp skins dancing under my feet
Shuffling with sodden soil thick with grit - I grapple
With sticky dew grass and spongy peat

Alligatored tree bark grabs my hands then bites as I shamble
Holding on for balance on uneven chards of scalloped stone
Dazed by the cool dark mist in this early morning amble
I am rough shod but heart happy right down to my bones!

Premium Member Dinner Cruise

DINNER CRUISE water feels good, bobbing up and down, in the light thunderstorm downy rain, with a gentle candlelight and moonless appetite. a buttery seduction sizzles, provoking lusting lips, for fried lobster and shrimp, served up on two scalloped plates. the quiet pitter patter, the rocking of the boat, where melodic music sways, with voluptuous vibe, the tingle of ears and tines are divinely entwined. 10/26/2017

Premium Member Smoking hot book

the book was smoking hot
you could see the gray whirls escaping
I wondered at the danger of opening it

laughed when I saw the fierce dragon
someone had done such a job on this novel
the head was intricately carved

she had scalloped fingers and flame-like wings
I was entranced and enchanted
who climbs out of a book like this?

she was trying to whisper something to me
I put my ear a little closer but was wary
after all, who wants their ear on fire?

Premium Member The Scalloped Plantain

The scalloped plantain
Shapes like a scallop
Leaves open up like a fan
Flat and wide
A remarkable landmark
Eye-catching and attractive
Frankly displaying
With no secrets hiding
Sincerely welcoming you
With open arms
Strikingly loyal
With supporting and compromising
Raised hands
But sad to say
It's disappearing from the garden
People are too busy and unartistic
To admire the surrounding
To appreciate the nature beauty
To be grateful to God's creation

Premium Member Knowing My Man

I will entice him with my meatloaf topping
Which means a meatloaf underneath naturally.
Next to it will be nestled my other signature dish
Scalloped corn with onions, saltines, and mashed potatoes.

He will be knocked out of his chair by this woman’s comfort food.
Especially after he tastes my warm homemade bread with real butter.
No one can resist my hot triple chocolate brownies under vanilla ice cream.
He will be malleable now, agreeable to any ideas or opinions I have.

behind the viel

Dust laden window grilles,
Lime scales on the shower door.
Detritus below the fragmented doors,
Commiserating the saudade and furor.

Blackened cushions besmirched with dirt,
dusty sheath peeping thru sleek curtain pleats.
Scalloped valance swaying and bewailing in silent grief.
Scattered around are the pages of the brief.

Culaccino marks on the table,
Shriveled up and dried plants silently standing in a row,
A zestful soiree, which took away all the glow long ago!
