{Death} is but one green hill behind me
I'm tired and mercy has run dry of steam
for this mad race to the heart of infinity
who made these dark games of mortality
a shell game that nobody ever will win
{Death}] is but one green hill behind me
slicing the chorus from beneath the wind
a single black rose between its teeth...

Cold Hearts,Small Minds
You mean to convey passion
but your voice is devoid of it.
Your words a dagger
come straight at my heart.
I cannot respond
to these fusillades;
I can only deflect, counter,
invent excuses,
turn cold and shiver in the night.

Two cats fighting in the alley.
a game also small minds play,
and when we run out of steam,
I feel no loss, watching you
sink out of sight in
your own quicksand.

Standing on the crest of my life
Reached with punch and some fire
Wonder I still, what the squeal
Of the gate closing be like
Carrying as it might be
A message lurking
That the years of indulgence
Of running as free as a deer
On the highlands boundless
Of thoughts and abstraction
And of diligence and sweat
Had run out of steam
To be never refired again
As in time would stop by
The Retirement,
To take its final call....

Spherical Scheme
So simple a ruse I silenced a scream
Just gullible enough to fall for your scheme
While you're bored and just blowing off steam

Now that this con has gathered more steam
My frustration has lent volume to my scream
How is it I haven't found an exit to this scheme

Not a pyramid but more of a spherical scheme
As it spins out of control so swiftly it gathers steam
And I just, I just. AHHHHHHHHHH. Scream.

I scream for this scheme to run out of steam...

Watching travelogs about the tropics I yearn for the warm sunny beaches Don't get me wrong I still love Canada But miss those gentle summer breezes The fresh sea air drifting across the water Soft and exhilarating sun on my skin Heaven like feeling matched by my mind Always accompanied by a grin Too old now to expect things to change Will forever be an unfulfilled dream But I can still dream about the tropics Still can till I finally run out of steam
