Painted Lady, Morning Glory
Early each morn
before the dawn
she primps and prettifies
shadows her eyes
lines her brows
lipstick applies
rouges her cheeks
powders her nose
lacquers her hair
files then paints her nails
fingers and toes
pampers places
it never shows
and every night
washes it all away

Sigh of Ages
Long moan to the morning sun
shift and creak,
stone shifting to greet the day.
Moss creeping inch by inch,
slithering bit by bit
absorbing the stone.
Century by century
standing witness to time,
lives come and go.
If these walls could talk
stories of royalty and rouges,
feasts and famines.
Stone soaked in blood
moat filled with water and waste,
tapestries of past deeds.
Shades of past
haunting the halls,
trapped in timeless wails.

Radical Rouges
Radical rouges have returned to restore
drilling and spilling and filling my gourd.
Each night as I dream these devils all scheme,
turning my memories into something obscene.
I can't seem to catch them, they work on thru the night,
bending and breaking every single bright light.
How do demons so dastardly dare to persist
within Heaven's domain, - within Heaven's mist.
If God ever looks, I won't be here anymore,
broken to pieces and swept out the door.
