Tree Tanka

Tree, fills my window
Red, dotting its massive green
Soon, it will glory
Rioting colours in all hues
Until, it's stark, bare and brown

Society

future society looking bleak,
feral children on the street
their rioting and running wild
blame the parent not the child.

Scumbag parents - do they care?
feral children everywhere.

This World

As the dark sunrise comes
the world goes mad
all is lost
at the hands of it's people
rioting, killing,
burning **** to the ground
everything disappears
eventually we vanish
and the world
is left to surmise
in the dark shadows of destruction

Demonstrators Versus Rioters

I support folks who challenge a perceived wrong by peaceful demonstration.

The First Amendment guarantees that right, when all is said and done.

But I loathe the rioting rabble who are ripping apart this great nation!

Such anarchic mobs have no respect for anything or anyone!

Day a Rooster Got Into My Face

I had nearly left the discomfort of the barnyard with some grace
when a roaming raring rooting rioting rooster got into my face
he chased me for a mile, and I felt more than a tiny bit of disgrace.
what are you doing? Someone asked me. Um…just a little race.
that mean fowl bit my ankle, and I landed upside down on my face.

Today

Knowing too much
was painful.

Shedding the fear, we were
disappearing in each other.

The rioting has spread
between deathless principles.

Unborn was
the sadistic attack-

sleeping on roses. There
was hidden sex in the pricks.

I made love with
the bones-
unthreading.

I will not borrow
the colors of moon
now.

Looting

London, London!
Youths rioting,
Communities dying.

Mother, mother the world is watching
London is burning,
Revolution rising.

Taxes increasing,
Cash decreasing,
Nation pleading.

Babies bleeding,
Mother’s praying,
Politician's denying.

Mother, mother the population is mad.
Hard times, crazy times, sad times,
Scary night, dreary night, lonely life.

Papa, papa her their cry!
Babies’ bawling,
Prison sizzling,
Cities exploding.

Love Trumps Hate

Love trumps hate,

and if rioting in the streets destroying private property,
filthy and disgusting foul language shouted and painted on signs
that small children can easily hear and read,
combined with threats of blowing up a government building
regardless of how many innocent people are inside

doesn’t prove it,

then nothing does.

Don’t you just LOVE it?

What’s that old saying about the pot calling the kettle…….

Bonfire At Play

Land mirrors balaclavaed moon tonight,
The dark blindfolds insects in drunken song,
And censors bawdy bullfrogs’ ancient rite.
Our starved eyes protest truant fireflies’ wrong,
As we raise high a flame of bright sarong.

Pixies may dance nude with rioting sparks,
A sleepwalking coyote somewhere barks,
While hot crackles heckle the clouds away.
We thrill to a new June the warm wind marks,
Think of the bonfire of summer at play.

The Spring of Rioting 2020

Destruction and obstruction.
    Cities burn, run by herds!

     Anarchy, you see,
     Is no mirror of democracy!

     Businesses destroyed.
Free running shoes, girls and boys?

     Patriots simply do not steal.
They love this land, with utmose zeal!

     Have faith, have enormous hope.
     Mature Americans are not dopes!

Until I Realized

I turned on the news and saw
people rioting in the streets,
burning the American flag,
destroying private property,
smashing windshields,
attacking innocent people,
screaming and ranting,
displaying so much hate
towards those who don’t share
the same thoughts and
ideas they do
and I was disgusted,
wondering why the news
had to always show things
that were happening
in the Middle East
until I realized

it was California

what the hell is wrong with people?
