Cogito Ergo Sum I Buy I Exist

I have my fears
I have my brakes
but without much thinking
I buy myself many things.
I accumulate many .debts...
Out of fear I tell myself some things
to rationalize and apologize...
I buy, I consume...
Soon I exist...!
 Cogito ergo sum ! !

Divine Love

My soul is soaring, my heart is overflowing and my spirit has joined with yours...oh divine love The mental has no place here, for as soon as we rationalize, the heart, the soul and the spirit will cease to exist in oneness...

What you want is divine
No one can take it away
No one can subtract
No one can add to
What you want is perfect
One can’t begin to imagine
Or rationalize
What you want is defectless
One can’t intellectualize
Think through or reason out
What you want is exemplary, beyond all praise

What happens when dreams collide with fate
and you struggle to rationalize?
What about if everything burns up in smoke
and you are not able to realize?
What happens when you cannot find the time
being left only to fictionalize?
What about your ending beginning afterlife
away from what you can idealize?

Borrowed Hours

Cries in the night
Echoing through the trees
Whispers carried by the wind
Men sit searching for reason
Thumbing through ancient stories
And borrowed hours
Longing
Conjuring feelings of relevance
Trying to rationalize
The feeling of impotence
Of being a man
The moon comes but once a year
While tears fill the heart
Of the restless soul.

Out of the Darkness

SOMETIMES, WHEN WE LEAST
EXPECT IT,LIFE PULLS THE RUG
OUT FROM UNDER US.
UNSUSPECTING, AND STUNNED
WE TRY TO PULL OURSELVES
TOGETHER; TO RATIONALIZE, TO
UNDERSTAND THE MEANING IN
AN UNBELIEVABLE SITUATION.
AND SO, WE MOVE; CAUTIOUSLY,
HALTINGLY, STUMBLING ON AND
HOLDING ON. JUST KEEP PUSHING
FORWARD, NO MATTER HOW SLOW
THE PACE; BUT MOVE FORWARD
OUT OF THE DARKNESS.

O candy corn If food was p*rn You start with one And then you’re done Where did they go You do not know Rationalize: They’re tiny pies! But face the facts They’re candied wax O candy corn I thought I’d sworn But there you are Right in that jar And so I’m drawn Till you’re all gone Myself to blame I flush with shame O candy corn If food was p*rn…

Premium Member Sitting and Running With Time

Sitting on the river bank
listening to the water flowing,
laden thoughts run through my mind
itching emotions I can’t scratch;
cascading thoughts flowing over decisions
made and to be made—decisions
only time can rationalize and justify.

Sometimes, the time is just not
the right time. The river has time
but just keep running like time.

Now, I am running…running
like the river…timing liberation.

Fire

Fire flash in the night sky

Neon drips from my sores

On my knees in the church

Or in the liquor store

Shot down like a dove

Cut down like the grass

Rotating in space around a

gravitational mass

I struggle to see through these

tired burned eyes

I struggle to breathe

as I try to rationalize

Let's go for a walk down

that old alley way

Let's talk about war

and radioactive decay
war

Destined

Do what you must to ensure they don’t see.
Rationalize and pretend it won’t be.

Wish it away to escape from it all.
Cover it up like the paint on the wall.

Cloak it in layers of varying hue,
carefully crafted to keep it from view.

Do what you can with all effort and might.
Make every move just to keep it from sight.

Do what you must but in time you will see,
you can’t wish away… what is destined to be.

Reasons

a thousand reasons to stay
a million more to go
the writing is on the wall
don't think it doesn't show

I weighed the pros and cons
and tried to turn and run
always coming back
it just won't stay undone

I've tried to work it out
rationalize in my head
the list goes on for miles
and just fills me with dread

I might as well just toss it
for all the good it has done
baby I'm here for keeps
I just can't leave this alone

Premium Member A Cold Sweat

Frightened by a sudden scream, a chill runs up my spine and morphs into a quivering shudder that makes my skin crawl. A cold sweat breaks out, and the hairs on the back of my neck start to rise as I collapse into a panic mood; desperately trying to rationalize this. Fight or flight has me paralyzed, I can't move a muscle until I hear that terrorizing scream again. And frantic, I begin to run, fueled by the adrenalin of fear.

Premium Member Maybe You Will Be Saved

So quiet is your voice

Hopefully no one will see you

Maybe they will pass by your door an pay you no mind

Life will be the same

The status quo

 Maybe You Will Be Saved

And

What about the others

Your family

Your friends

Those others

That weren't as fortunate

Just turn your back

Run

Hide

Somehow rationalize their demise

Do you believe

 Maybe You Will Be Saved

                  Define Saved.........

Thank You for the Applause.//

Though I think it’s time to pause,
Find space in the mind to reflect,
Ideas and inspirations floating about to dissect,
Do you feel me yet?
When you know who you are,
Try to manifest each star,
Establish bridges over an ocean,
Before you give yourself the notion,
That poetry isn’t an absorbed emotion,
Just thrive on it,
Feel alive on it,
Get high on it,
And somehow try to rationalize how,
Minds meet at in a smoke ribbon pow wow.

BESTOWED MOMENT

In the quiet
Are you listening?
In an awful, lonely hush
There is this mantra
An almost imperceptible hummmmmmmmm
Easing one out of focus
But not out of self
I sense it in the shoulders – this roundness
(this sur-roundness)
I sense this presence
Eternal
Beyond the planets, stars, galaxies
One may rationalize, call it, simply, flow of blood -
The familiar coursing life force
Yes, that too
But no!
There is this unutterable sense of beyond
A bestowed moment
