Invisible Invincible
How can you say that you see me
When you refuse to see
I called upon you
But I rallied no answer

How can you say that you hear me
When my voice goes ignored
I shouted across the room
But a lonely echo is what I got...

Valiant Valentines
Cupid shot me down with a flaming arrow in my heart
Rallied his fellow cherubs to stand guard over my soul
And keep watch of the players who steal my innocence for a mind toll
They know that the years have been unkind and love has torn me apart...

Premium Member An Old Fashioned Christmas Chorus
We rallied around and sang carols
Everything felt magical and alive
We drank hot cocoa and ate cookies
Before the Christmas Tree

Before the skaters go
Let’s give them their gifts suggested Uncle Joe
They stayed and sang carols with us
Christmas season was in full swing...

Writer's Insomnia
My brain‘s sprung a leak
Words are tumbling out
Good, bad, happy, sad
It doesn’t matter
They fall onto the page

I can’t sleep
Repressed for so long they’ve rallied and escaped
Running free, punishing me
At any cost
They force me to write

I can’t focus
Words flow through my mind
Verse, lines, lyric and rhymes
Holding me hostage
They show no relenting...

Humble As Pie
I gave today... to the needy
While I wished for a hit

I stole today... from the needy
While I promised them help

I lied today ... to the needy
While I laughed behind their backs

I cried today... for the needy
While I rallied in anger

I sang today... for the needy
While I held my tune of peace

I talked today... to the needy
While I ignored their pleads...

sandcastle

grains of quartz sculpture
surrender
a ghost of past strength

sand storm

soft sands harmless
until rallied by whipping winds
rising in power

the red planet a dream of little green men
landing their saucers in my garden
I was never invited to join the rank of delusion
and if rallied to take a trip I will make sure
it is a round ticket with my dog in tow
living in a bubble for no reason
as we can fix our good earth
if we only put our mind to it
and stop the greed of ten or should we make it twelve
and call them the apostles...

For the Sparrow
Oh, for the sparrow
     who feathers his journey
rallied by sunshine
             chosen by air

Capturing breeze
           unaware of his being
free of intention
           free of despair

Oh, for the sparrow
     who weathers his beauty
in balance with nature
      for delicate grace

Gentle and soothing
         in care of the heavens
to live for the ages
     for all to embrace...

Poppy Wreathes
People of many nations
Rallied to the cause
United in their effort
To end two World Wars.
At the many Cenotaphs
Poppy Wreathes are laid
With two minutes silence
And National respect is paid.

Veterans of all generations
Think of their lost friends
Tears are held back as
Each ceremony ends.
We have kept our promise
Renewed every November
In spite of passing years
We will always remember....

Feeling of Whole
Surreal hallucinations wafted dense,
metaphysical quantities swirled fast,
normal vision opaqued beyond farthing,
neurons rallied electrically in maze,
storey up the ground was holy,
brain had distanced from the body,
dismembered body parts were as yet members,
to keep me whole,
brain still had the control,
mental activity sometimes catpulted in hyper,
body felt left behind,
but the whole felt super....

Gold Rush
Once upon a gold rush
In the midst of 68'
They rallied up the minors
To find the worthy candidate
Stand up for the people
Hook the bosses with the bait
One point for the minority
Mark it on the slate
When the tables turned
Causing havoc and debate
They fired all the workers
And won't let them past the gate
Slide through Canadian borders
To another mining state
When they went to catch the train
They found the were too late...

The Voice of Reason
People’s lives were ruined
When McCarthy hollered “Red!”
Fanning flames as paranoia
Reared its ugly head.

Blacklists made the circuit
Keeping many out of work.
Neighbors spied on neighbors
Seeking where’d the commies lurk.

Finally, a prudent voice
Spoke out against this fool,
When Edward Murrow told the public
Reason had to rule.

I’m too young to remember
But I’m honoring that speech
When Murrow rallied all the world
To fight McCarthy’s breach....

Premium Member He Won'T Put More On You Than You Can Bear
You can bear it
The strains, those hurts
Those pains
The looks
Your an out cast
Rallied and shamed
Jesus died for you
Rose again
Go on through your trials and tests
He won't put more on you than you can bear

Little one, my God
Will ease, will stop
Stop the pains
The shames
Your an out cast
Rallied and shamed
Go on through your trials and tests
Jesus died for you
Rose again
He won't put more on you than you can bear

Our foxy former president
who rallied the rioters and
then safely went,
is hoping that we all forget,
the January 6th Capitol attack
and the good judgement that he lacked,
and how he didn't have poor Mike Pense's back.
Trump was the president, our supreme boss but
still takes no responsibility for those lives now lost.
He's gearing up for 2024, with his big pac monies
and hopes to score, holding rallies and stirring up his core,
with his same divisive message again once more.....
