                      soft falling rain drops.
                      though a bright night glistens.
                      rabbit on road, hops.

Rabbit On the Run
Rabbit on the run,
is no fun,
hound dog in
the chase in hot
pursuit, is life to
the fullest for
this little dog.

Rabbit scampers
down his hole,
and proceeds to
laugh his head
off.

Until he sees
Mr Rattle snake
making that noise
they always do,
such a nice
lunch old
Rattle snake
had.

A Human Rabbit
He, alone, within our orbit
Might one call Rabbit,
Having picked up Rabbit’s Habit
And Rabbit’s Smell does emit
Without pitying limit…
A Rabbit on merit!
Earning The -More -Than -A -Credit!

For watching him at it
Your bank account debit
At least a little bit
For your face that shall be lit
And, laughing, end in a pit....

Finish Line
the thoughts come thick and quickly
racing around my mind
like a metal rabbit on a track
dogs chasing to the finish line
not a single moment
not a single prayer
is coming into motion
usable in my brain's lair

as I dissect the memories
the good and bad that stay
of different times and feelings
that have led me astray
I write another chapter
in this saga of me and you
the book on my night table
with much more penning to do...

RESTLESS MARCH

the whispering breeze
cats at the open window
a strange restlessness

just one patch of snow
sun glancing off the roof tops
sense the world turning

just one patch of snow
and not a cloud in the sky
a restless sniffing

rabbit on the run
eagle at one thousand feet
strange restless chatter

oh such excitement
not wild just restless twitching
cats open window

cats open window
exciting restless silence
be still aware now...

the run
rabbit on the run
a chase

a blurred streak
a sneak-attack
rips through
a stretched skin of electric fear

slipstreams of instinct
give it a path to flee upon

earth springs-up
leaps ahead

air bouncing limbs
part waves
in a green sea.

rabbit never looks back
until
the scent of a killer
wafts upon dispersing clouds

it nibbles scenery
forgets wild flights
or wall-eyed race tracks
through long grass

yet even now

ears scan for blips
on a fine-haired radar
