Something For Emmett
Tears embedded
three ring delight
Star-crossed harlequins
pigmented fright
Echoes of laughter
masking false smiles
Greasepainted fantasy
—clowns in denial

Air
The space animated. The place migrated.
The taste of possibility, pigmented,
invisibly, orientated by shifting atmosphere,
arousal, of fickled nothingness'?
impregnated?...

In His Image
Tissue,pigmented,black,brown or white,
Everyone equal in the creator's sight;
Whatever shaded membrane skin,
Just a covering,layered thin.
Purely an accident of birth,
Never a value of our worth;
Customs and culture the true divide,
Ignorance its willing guide.
Repercussion and backlash,we reap
When our thinking,stays skin deep....

Missive To a Sister
New Orleans, sister city to Port Royal kin
Where all our pirates children separated
Was by water and not by pigmented skin
O how in history you two stand ill-fated
Orphan children in a sad state so despised
By subtle policies unmasking subtle lies:
Man's heart more callous that storms denies
Its own humanity in each humanity it despised....

Leave No One Behind
Pigmented leather, indeed, make sure it is clean of belongings,
especially bodies with clothes. Search overhead and underneath
for the precious tots. Leave no one behind. Search arduously.
Though the time spent bores you to tears, you’d be wrung out
if you forget to do your spot check. Then forever after you’ll ride
that bus, in daydreams and nightmares, always searching. Search!

Death Cannot Kill You, Dear Mother
soft-spoken & fair woman
with much assurance to every child
her fair heart tallied with her colour
for hers was a fair pigmented skin
generous & kind to a fault
a face with ever-beaming smile
she lived one angel on this horizon
mother badaiki, loved by all
hers was a love-bound heart
when was she angry? when frowning?
’tis the hardest to say she lived for us
mother badaiki, loved by all -
& death cannot kill you, dear mother!...

March of the Tattoos
She's collecting tattoos at a rapid pace.
How many is to many, it's hard to say.
Sometimes I think they're just a distant sign.
From a clouded spirit, a distant cry.
Pigmented therapy for long lost lullaby?
Maybe that line of sanity is breeched.
When the ink spills onto the hands and face.
The two things that separate man from beast.
The last things we flash to the world.
Before the lid snaps shut on our masterpiece...

The Raven
The Raven
Black pigmented ink
Circle my frame
Charcoal
My melanin
Fierce as the raven
Perched upon a housetop
In its black attire
Regal and justified
Jet as ebony,
Timber from a tropical tree
Molasses is my honey
I knead with the night
And scare the limited of mind
More precious than the Tahitian pearl
A lantern at midnight
My soil shall keep my garden
Fruitful and multiplied

Morning Ribbons
Morning ribbons in the sky
Lavender, tangerine, sunny yellow,
passionate pink and powder blue silks,
blowing freely among the clouds.
I sip a cup of silk roast bliss from a favored mug,
coated in breaching dolphins and
breathe in sky’s sensually colored elixir.
My day begins with, a sumptuous breakfast beneath
this canvas of, pigmented delight.
Brother Sun smiles at such creations and
tickles my brain cells…I smile too.

Skin Deep
Tissue,pigmented black,brown or white,
All equal in the creator's sight;
However shaded,each membrane kin,
Merely a cover,layered thin.
Purely an accident of birth,
Never a value of our worth;
Cutoms,culture our true divide,
Ignorance its willing guide.
Tastes,mores,attitudes
Provoking reponses,crude and rude;
Manners,conventions,traditional ties,
The crux upon which all difference lies.
Repercussion and backlash,we reap
If our thinking stays skin deep....

Naila
You blankly stated,
On which I write my thoughts
Some of them are strong and bold
While others are soft and polite.
You are my canvas,
Landing tall at ten fleeting doves
I splash colored oiled pigments
Here and there and down our halls
You can see it down on our walls.
The brush strokes it on through,
The pigmented oils of
The hair hues of blue
They've painted.
Hair waiving through line after line.
With shade after shade
As if the ink was there.

Stone of Nihilism
Stone of Nihilism
Stained glass lies
Colored shards of broken truth
Puzzle pieces arranged in
Sanctimonious expression
Designed to camouflage falsehoods
The perjury of Priests
Disguised deceit in windows of brilliant rainbow hues
Lighted by a sunlight of fraudulent confession
Hypocrisy designed with prismatic glass of fragile faith
Proudly hang in your Church of Shame
My single stone of Nihilism
Shatters the pigmented panes of your tinted atrocities

The Art of Sky-Bow
A sky-bow
pastel light rays,
pigmented by clouds;
a canvas of light.
Gradient echoes filtering
from stratospheric crystal;
embracing curvature,
terra-forma.
Polychrome lamp
riding world’s edge
to infinity’s lair;
ascending...descending,
half moon crest.
A lemon-cherry,
orange and grape
smoothie, blending
in the heavens.
My soul bleeds into
passion pinks
elation oranges
pulling me up to
highest heights
of tranquility.
