Silly Willie Ups a Dilly

The best 2021 perk
Was a space flight for Captain Kirk
An Enterprise
Where no one dies
Proving fantasy just might work

Showers

Lovely is the rain
Streaming down on my lanai
Quickly starts to wane
Trees perk up and flowers sigh
Never even knowing why

A New Perfume

There was an enthusiastic gent
A new perfume, he tried to invent
Not a grand perk
For his hard work
Was a cent that was sent for his scent!

Southern Hospitality

McConnell says blacks are not whites
So there's no need for voting rights
They all have the perk
Of going to work
Though a few may need to work nights!

An Appeals Court

An Appeals Court

What appeals to circuit
Court up they need to perk it,
Now and never quit.

Watching news and writing poems
from observations is always interesting.

Starting and Beginning To See

Starting and Beginning To See

Am starting and beginning to see,
Glad it had been you and not me;
My coffee perk,
While you work,
And rested and better off I will be.

Was Here and Did Appear

Was Here and Did Appear

Front yard had been bad does appear;
Improvements did make there and here,
And after work,
Our soil did perk;
Yard will be better by the end of the year.

An Unconventional Perk

       ~ Four-Line Limerick ~

A soda jerk I knew at work
   offered customers an unconventional perk

When he pulled the handle on the Coke
~ Their seats would swivel, their rear ends twerk

A Perk of a Poetry

Taking the world by storm Is not what one would expect From the birthing of a poem Perhaps it is enough To know that inspiration struck And for a moment You were one with The Creator

Perk

coffee's perking
mind is working
always in the past

pour a cup
to wake me up
wondering if it can last

another hour
java empowers
has the die been cast

drive to work
heart in a cirque
the feeling, vast

Lurking Work

Work,
A jerk,
Born to irk,
We cannot shirk,
Manager or clerk,
He makes us go berserk,
In every corner he'll lurk,
Well then, what's his positive perk?
Payday brings on our faces - a SMIRK.

Love Is In the Night Air

Love Is In The Night Air

In the eve of the night her bosoms perk
Two shining stars dance to his fireworks
A bang and a pop
Sweet love drops
Glitter and gladder the moons went berserk

Squash

Strenuous work,
Gimme a perk,
It hurts, the pain,
I'm not the same.

Bending backs,
facing the facts,
I'm not a farmer,
A bogus charmer.

And they tell me;
Be careful said he--
It's squash, not squish
You work or you flee.

School Humour

We're waiting
For the school radio to start,
Then hear four pips,
Teacher quips
"What does that mean?"
I perk up
"He's just eaten an apple"
Class collapses.
One of the first
Funny things I'd said
And quite possibly
One of the last.

Trump a Jerk With a Perk

TrUmP A Jerk with a Perk

Trump as a President went to work,
And he had been a jerk with a perk;
Discovered disease,
From some fleas,
That around his body liked to lurk.

Hello Vitamin B 12

Vitamin B12
The perk up pill
But are you my friend?
Will you kick up my energy?
A notch or three?
Today or tomorrow or will you take a week?
Vitamin B12
Stay right here
Talk to me
Give me your word
You will help me get my energy back.

I Sense Them Before I See Them

Faeries flutter and stutter
My ears perk up
I sense them more than I see them

They slowly come into view
My peripheral vision gets the first glimpses
Dainty and determined

One notices I see them.
Poof. They are gone.
Shy as a daisy chain.

Global Warming - Bring It On

GLOBE WARMING BRING IT ON

Closing down sales in fur-coat shops
Polar bears amble past Madison Avenue bus
Miami people swim to work

Fry bacon free on sidewalks and building-tops
Rush for sunblock of 4000-plus
Ice-cream for dessert? That’s a perk

Morning Has Broken

Morning conversation

I get up first in the morning
Coming back to bed my wife ask
Did you?
“No, I need coffee first”
My wife gets up coming back
I ask “Did you?”
“No”
We are talking about evacuations
A perk when it is regular,
And you’re a pensioner.
