Tranquil
the ocean
sun sinks
sky orange-red
with distance
comes moon
each wave
mutes night
circling gulls
waves and air
water and evening
infinite horizon...
Everything
utters night
losing shape
eyes closing
darkness in wind
each wave
the water
sky and moon
go together
with these words
I paint the sky dark...
Paradisiacal flower blessed with thorns,
bloody tongue holding such angelic prose;
The sweetest petals a harsh prick adorns,
a slight crack in perfection will impose;
Razor fine points cover a wall that warns,
this adversary will always oppose;
Such celestial resilience in her gaze,
American beauty’s not a catchphrase.
gray days are make believe,
with a scintilla of birdsong,
almost annoying in its tease,
like a chimerical haze.
hope remembers the sun,
its shining rays,
elaborate feathers,
and paradisiacal dance.
green moss, creeping ivy,
budding oaks, streamers
of newborn pink willow,
stunning blue eyes of paradise
these Winter bones ache...

Sampaguita...for the shortest while, eternal;
blissful enigma, serene beauty,
paradisiacal.
Dew-kissed white petals lift its fragrant oblation,
gratitude, prayer and hope
of a troubled nation.
Blossoming, beaming upward to see the sky smile,
Sampaguita...eternal for the shortest
while!
