American Beauty
Paradisiacal flower blessed with thorns,
bloody tongue holding such angelic prose;
The sweetest petals a harsh prick adorns,
a slight crack in perfection will impose;
Razor fine points cover a wall that warns,
this adversary will always oppose;
Such celestial resilience in her gaze,
American beauty’s not a catchphrase.
