on burial grounds
already full
of little deaths
i gasp
through short breaths
and utter your name
as etched
on each stone
soaked
with morning
i rise
and remember
this dance

of your soul
to usher me
through this obscurity
of nighttide

as eyes close
to gain sight
in the distance
i see you
standing
alone
hands out
reaching
but never
touching
before
eyes open
and you fade
with night
in the breaks
of day
