In the Fades of Night

in the fades of crimson
ivory shadows dance
upon the hills
in windswept motions
beneath the haloed moon

my thoughts aglow
in the allure
that nighttide
often brings

a song
on the strings
of hearts
drifts aimlessly
in echoes
through the folds
of darkness
towards dreams
as eyes close
to gain sight

in the distance
i see you
standing
alone
hands out
reaching
but never
touching
before
eyes open
and you fade
with night
in the breaks
of day

I can certainly feel the longing for that one with the outstretched hands in this beautiful poem you have graced us with my friend. Some dreams are so hard to wake up from. Good morning Sandy.

Another one of your gifted writes my friend --uniquely worded and executed--in windswept motions beneath the haloed moon---as eyes close to gain sight---beautifully done, Sandy.

Thank you my friend...the sky was gorgeous last night, the moon, appeared full but because clouds were moving in, it looked like it had a halo...it came over the hills near me, so the hills were aglow, but there was still a setting sun across the sky so there was some color among the gray... hugs

The most beautiful dreams always seem to fade in the light of day, perhaps you are a dreamer as I am. I feel a bit of sadness in this one, Sandy. All my best. Hugs, John
