Autumn Wind
Sacred sounds of the autumn wind
Blessed microphones could not endow
A feeling that our lives entwined
This silly technology knows not how....

The Stone Hedge Report
Stepping unto her microphones an impromptu appearance....
Assuring them all that yes, his golden proverb shall soon arrive ?
Tears of joy a collective shout wiping the grief their years these eyes....

I do not know?
Time To Dance ( ~music)
Melodies pulsing through my soul
Undulating symphony of rock and roll
Strumming rhythms.. electric heat
Instrumental with a jazzy beat
Chords and lyrics.. Microphones
~~Bring delicious wiggles to my bones....

Singing Goldfish
Their silver nightclub microphones were mega-big, giant size I’d say
Three sensuous singing goldfish stepped up to sing the night away
They started with Chattanooga Choo Choo which always makes me cry
Ending up with a hearts and flower song where some creepy guppies die....

I Could Never Write
I could never write a poem about
Horseradish
Dust bunnies
Nose hairs
Rat droppings
A dead roach
Cow pies
Mastication
Silverfish
Ketchup
A dirty diaper
A car engine
Naval fuzz
Cobwebs
Vampires
Microphones
Skateboards
Nail clippings
Torn limbs
I say and then I do....

So it's come to this
It's right out in the open for everyone to see ~
puppets bought and paid for
dancers strung and played
delusional parrots with microphones
hostages read the demands of a madman
while maintaining somewhat of a poker face
It's never been so obvious : integrity has its price....

The World Will Never Know
There are red carpets
untouched by my feet
and film credits without my name.
Microphones not knowing my voice
and lenses unfamiliar with my face.
Spotlights I will not stand in,
stages I will not appear on.
People I will never get to meet.
And there is only one heart all of this is breaking....

A Primal Scream
Far from the curious and the bored
from prying eyes and microphones
The haunt of laboratory and clipboard
stiff backbone, late nights alone
A drive from deep inside, a primal scream
pushing and tugging the scientist's dream
Fatigue's chains broken, he toils on
Discovery's Joy, a new day's dawned...

Gospel Truth
Poetry transformed
Vibrated through
microphones
Ladies don't
give away your moans
freely
Entice with your eyes
come back
In nine months
full of surprise.
Nothing could be better
than creating another you
You and I, the gospel truth.
If you don't mind
I'd like to preach
about it
for an hour or two
While your
eyes unfold
the greatest gift
my ears have ever heard...

Appalachian Trail Walk
showers of castanets
on a tin roof
a stop-over for the night
on the longest hike
a bushel of owls
in each drip of rain
aftershocks of mice nibbling through
the wires of a sleepless mind
listening
through ear shaped microphones
pigeons scrabble overhead
then clatter as they take off
the rain softens toward dawn
to a ten second splish
time to move on...

You and I
let us richly grow the word
deep in the hearts of the world
our being the ripened seed of seen
planted in wide acceptance therein
to bloom the one, his come and call
in fruitful yields he longs of all
not microphones tilling tares across
of sundays' spill in sows of dross
much sowing, much growing, what is to see?
dread dirtiness in laughs of hurt mockery
so, let's sow ourselves true of the word
and what true change come upon the world...

Think Or Sink
As the days turn to nights
The lights fade to shadows
So the truth changes
For those who think
About as broadly as
Fishing line of light gauges
As rain turns to snow
And water freezes solid
So convictions firm
For those who think
The other side of the coin is as faraway as
The next presidential term
As a roar is silenced
The microphones turned off
So the communal life drifts
For those who sink
Into loneliness as silent as
The reason for their philanthropic gifts...

Birthday Quarantine Queen
Today’s my daughter’s birthday.
In her group home, there was cake,
Balloons and decorations;
It was fun, make no mistake.
There was pizza, dayglo bracelets,
Blow-up microphones, as well
As some neon light-up glasses –
Very festive, you can tell.
She was sporting a tiara
And, in photos from the scene,
She was glowing in a t-shirt
Which read “Queen of Quarantine.”
We are grateful to her staff
Who kept the party going on
And we also owe a debt
For all that stuff to Amazon!...
