Genie
Your words
Are like a genie in a bottle
They loosen themselves
And rise at the merest touch
Of my hand
To my tears....

A Question of Synergy
Have I simply risen
up to meet your
falling expectations?
Or, are we so matched
(as we believe)
that love's the merest consequence
of our sweetest of summations?...

Butterfly
A great beauty,
So simple and pure,
Flirting with the sun and the wind and the stars themselves,
A brush of breath.
It touches my face.
Like a baby's touch so light and unfocused.
So easily broken,
A creature of glass,
That the merest touch would shatter the illusion....

Threadbare Heart
a slight feeling of ambivalence,
the merest hint of cold indifference
crushes all the confidence
that's in a threadbare heart
take care, take time, show tenderness,
each simple smile's a rich indulgence
that costs but a moment of patience
and restores a threadbare heart...

Sunset
SUNSET

Squinting at a blinding white sun
The whole of planet Earth turns
And from the viewpoint of us all
A fiery giant ball of red and gold
Dips so slowly below the horizon
Until the merest sliver disappears
And recognises time for darkness
Leaving a crescent moon smiling...

In the Place of 'Judgement'
It might have been a zephyr only
Of an angry mood the feeblest aired.
But for what's storm-raised as a mind flash
To be shook by must you be prepared.

Merest of mere light soaking, you say
Pitious partook, too few the tears
But brought to their rememberance above
A cloudless burst of love for you nears....

Little Jack Brawner
Little Jack Brawner,
Stewed in a corner,
Eattin' some kind of crud all day,
Over came Noodles The Shiv,
Said, "Your food and money you better give!"
Jack yelled, "No Way!!"
He stood up in defiance
And got the merest glance..
As "Noodles" shived him in the gut...
Goes to show you,
That Jack was a friggen' nut....

So Starkly Silent Now
So starkly silent now
So bare
The branches of the tree
In nakedness
It stands not shivering
Despite the winds
Of shame
It is immobile
Inert as death
And deathlier pale
With nothing to let to hide
And this oak
So formidable before
In the merest cycle of his love
Stands finite and frail
Amidst a brown trash heap of leaves....

RENEWAL
RENEWAL

The seasonal baton has been handed on
Months of renewal lie ahead on the track
Winter’s cold and unfeeling face is now gone
And the growing warmth of spring is welcomed back
Relishing the chance to smile and laugh once more
In contrast to the grim time just weeks before
Of lingering memories, the merest hint
Each year runs a marathon, never a sprint
...

Premium Member Amethyst Fate
Bluebells in chime are shadows in training,
beech trees rising in a sheltering sky.
Sunlight peeks through, the merest of raining,
to guide the mauve buds to darkness close by.
Wind in the forest wafts in refraining.
Violet implores the young they must fly.

But until they're ready fledglings must wait
to one day assume their amethyst fate.

A Bit Askew
writing something new
just a bit askew
asking for the given
taking each strike with a smile
taste nothing but bile
numb comes after the pain
madness masquerades as the sane
i took a tear
and placed it in a box
buried it in the deepest loch
took a sigh
and pushed it in a balloon
sent it to the moon
took a broken heart
and ripped my life apart
Depression flattened paper thin
dust footprints leaving
merest trace
a smile lost within this face...

Dragonflies and Hearts
Such a day
Filled with you
Of blue skies
Hearts
And dragonflies

I look back
Upon a time
When a merest thought
You felt
Caught
Like heady wine
Feelings wrought
Iridescent blue
Shimmer of wing
Quiver of heart
Of blue skies
And dragonflies
You remembered , too

Such a day
Spent with you
Felt like forever
It was
On a day
So blue
Of dragonflies
And hearts

Your reflection
Upon water, so still
Of iridescent blue
I saw you ….
My dragonfly...

Rusalka
She flickers in the borderland
In the mirror and the marsh
 Sparkling like the morning dew
 On a grateful corpse

 In the bog her murmuring
 The echo of a cry
 Travels on the plaintive wind
 Like a phantom sigh

 The merest of a semblance
 Shadowed by the moon
In the murk appears to flirt
 Behind the sinking dunes

Like an orphan of the sea
Or a widow of the sands
She shrivels in the noon day sun
 Glimmering in strands

Upon Dropping Myself (An Accident)
Not enslaved to the flow of time;
no peril yet for careless hands.

sealed and complete,

I picture it
off the floor,
a fragile capsule
packed with gallons
of linoleum spite.
to burn with it
the miles
up between us and flight

- but gravity, gravity

paves a path
to nearest harbor;
the egg lands on the catch
of my palm’s
bomb-hatch,

wingless.
defused.

a message maydayed to me:

are you tethered to the merest tock?
threatened by the slightest flick of wind?...

A Beautiful Star Fell
A beautiful star fell

To ground

Amongst the trees

At Heartstone

Its’ light shone

Upon the leaves

All around

A beautiful star fell

Swirls of colour

Of every hue

Rose through the trees

Soft angel light

Star bright

Angels of Heartstone

To travel

Amongst the stars

Coming home

To nature and magic

Of all things…known

There is no time

To distance

The merest thought

To travel through

Nature

Light

And magic too...
