RENEWAL
The seasonal baton has been handed on
Months of renewal lie ahead on the track
Winter’s cold and unfeeling face is now gone
And the growing warmth of spring is welcomed back
Relishing the chance to smile and laugh once more
In contrast to the grim time just weeks before
Of lingering memories, the merest hint
Each year runs a marathon, never a sprint
