A Blood's Cry
A blood’s cry dulled eerily from ghosts,
Had its jarred kisses like melancholia noon on purpled quab,
Righteous sanity to undone vain whirlwind,
xylophoning, yet zephyr....

Melancholia-A Tanka Verse
a confined abyss
dis ease,born of despair-
early morning mist
evanescing in
new light-giving care
You may hear me recite this tanka verse and much of my PS poetry on youtube under my pen name ichthyschiro...

A Private Hell
The realm
of the mind,
where dream
abounds
private,tender
ravaged by rhetoric
where confusion
struggles
with truth:
melancholia breathes
secret intrigues..
the anodyne..

September Melancholia
sunbeams through the leaves
shattered on the pavement
fragments of a summer
which I don't want to stop
nostalgia fills me up
reminiscing about those days
when happiness was all I felt
and laughter was all I heard...

Sadness
Sad but true
I miss you
Abruptly
Most surely
Why did you go?
My heart hurts
Arterial stabs
Pain redecorated
Darkness floods
Wet eyes weary
Painful melancholia
Grief prolongs

Ghost Story
indigo moonbeam
Mere mortal deeply asleep
Shadow surge on wall
Indistinct movement
Particle of existence
Memories recalled.
Melancholia
Sleeping face ignites sadness
Desolate heartache.
Shimmering shadow
Lover's shade imparts soft kiss
Indigo moment....

Now Is Lit
Tonight
I rediscovered
Boulevard of Broken
Dreams on a jaunt through
Glasgow’s October-lit streets. Rain
drippin’ off chin. Momentarily wishing
I was more like I was back then. Funny how
I’m now bolder to touch. This strange & honeyed
melancholia…. how it grins already for each tomorrow....

Concrete
Melancholia
See beyond mere sense, look
The steep way forfeits book
Bubbles in mystic bath
Sense leaking waters rough
Fault finds moves that fumble
In dying distant dangle
Slide upon the slippery
We all fall down easy
Lost souls I remembered
Dying bruised and battered

This Poem Is a Cut
Away, Melancholia
rhymless
life striken root
Away, Melancholia
you
dandelion sun
terrace shadow
want of want
Melancholia,
gateless fable
withheld of word
of that unwalked path
Melancholia.
you are owed no
explaination,
have no spoken rath
but still
I walk through
your time
to tell your story,
I am sorry.
Leave me....

Late At Night
Late at night when I feel low
I listen to the Stranger on the Shore
As the haunting clarinet plays
I see an emerald sea with one on shore looking back at me
The the full moon on Moon River
With the reflection making such perfection
And the Summer Place I look for
In my dreams of other days
And the melancholia will not leave me.

Dramatic Monologue
The Hurt
by Mark Miller © 12/21/2016
Void of heart's love,
Desolate doldrums above-
Mournful Melancholia,
Morose melody-
Severed goodbyes,
Time doleful cry's
Deject filled grief,
Subject denied relief
Internal aches,
Death's depot awaits-
Complicit plot,
Sculpted lies a flock-
Head out west,
For blissful rest-
Forever in wait,
Flames heat passion
?...

Melancholia
Sad sad sighs
Wet tears cry
Sad sad looks
Wet tears hook
Tale not told
Cold feels cold
Bones feel cold
Old thoughts fold
Sad meets sad
Touch feels mad
Bad knows bad
Sad not glad
Sad breathes sigh
Pain hurls cries
Cry and cry
Sigh to sigh
Look at sad
Just not glad
Hook bleeds try
More to cry

Cerulean
My mother clad me in pink,
and later in my teens, lavender.
But the blue was always there,
underneath the pastel colors.
It was in my genes,
blue with its melancholia
and myriad synonyms,
azure and cerulean.
My mood is a spectrum
of different shades of blue,
including royal and navy.
The sky and the sea are blue,
with every variation in between,
turquoise and indigo.
Blue is behind my strawberry colored smile....

Stubbornness
It was spirit of the time.
The lethal trade of-
missiles, someone was sending free.
You collect the cachet
of bleak weather. The
roses were in bloom.
Trying to conceive the
buttercups in the blue-
frame of melancholia.
I err, and find myself
in sleep after the contact.
A genetic gratitude overwhelms.
You catch the stings
blindly. The other sin will
take care of itself in blood.

Winter Haiku Reflections
Midwinter
melancholia
winter ignites gloomy thoughts
counting down 'till spring
Spring under Snow
snow-capped Wicklow hills
yellow gorse silently sleeps
spring's spell lies in wait
So Cold
winter please be gone
your frigid breath's unwelcome
winter please be gone

It's Not Cool
Going insane? Am I losing my mind?
Happiness seems to have been left behind.
Look at us all, why are we so sad?
Acting ‘depressed’ and ‘suicidal’ like it’s some kind of fad.
Is it just a sick joke to you? Find this amusing?
While people are out there, a true battle against melancholia they fight, but they’re losing.
“I don’t feel shit”, people say, “Everything is numb”
Despondency, and depression aren’t cool. What have we become?...

I do not know?
Sent Anonymously
It returns to haunt,
the dilemma, of disowning
the old version of truth;
when I was searching the parallelism
for the sake of otherness.
The unreturning melancholia,
brings the surreal intruder,
I did not want to entertain.
The insane activity of heart
wants a sin uncommitted.
The flirt eyes like a tulip
between your fingers,
unrolling the tender petals.
Night throws the salt on the moon.
There were no tears.
