melancholia
       memories
emoting
           tears,
forgotten
          years
             awake:
regrets
          surface
lost love
         remembered,
words unsaid,
      recalled
raw
        emotions
crescend
            descend
      die,
the tide of life
ebbs...
     no longer ...flows

I read it again after listening to Mahler and it took on greater significance. Brilliant exercise!
