A Many Splendored Thing
When you find that many splendored thing in you,
   you will know it.
But, do not confuse this knowing
   with any former time.

Cast your mind into it--as if you were
   the ancient mariner himself--
And let the line be carried deep
   and far from your sails of safety.

Listen for the voice of the albatross
   as it sings your love song homeward....

Premium Member A Taste of Promise
Love is not
a many splendored thing;
it is a cot,
a comfy suspended ring
upon which we dream for wishes granted.

In the privacy of imagination
we envision
prince charming and fair maiden,
in their unchanging quest
for happy ever after.

If gods do bless we'll meet a vision
in the flesh and hearts will mesh
with a taste of promise,
as her daydream meets his fantasy
and love erupts....

A Many Splendored Thing
Shattered in pieces and scattered about;
While a heart bleeds profusely anguish speaks out.

How did this happen was he not a good man?
Are we watching him dying from here where we stand?

As blood flows in crimson from the cut of her knife;
Betrayed and abandoned by a woman called wife.

In another man’s arms she slips out of sight;
She did what she had to because she wants him tonight.

Struggling to get up from the place where he fell;
He remembers those words “created in hell”...

Lovers Wish
A splendored thing the mind foresees
Two lovers lay ‘neath the trees
Embraced in each others arms
Engulfed in each others charms

A rich thing lay there before her
More so than frankincense, gold and myrrh
Such beauty lay there before him
To love her is his only whim

To behold a touch so soft and pure
Like doves their racing hearts do soar
Oh, to float with clouds so high
Then lay back and hear each other sigh

If I were her and you were he
I’d love thee till eternity...
