The fat man claims to be a man of the world
and dances around the stage as if to prove it.
The leading lady laughs deliciously
and exits arm in arm with the thin man -
after all she knows the fat man is a jolly sort
and not like normal people
with feelings to be considered....

Man of the World
Man of the world:

His eyes were the trick to his disguise
His lies were the key to his guide
As he lay there deep with in the lie
He realized
Nor he nor anyone else could relinquish him of the pain he'd hide
Of the pain he'd hide
So if he fell astray
If he fell behind
No one would be left to help him fly

Rabid desires, blamed on testosterone;
vicious thoughts, in games of oneupmanship,
fuelling passions, turning heart to stone,
remorselessly tighten on soul their grip,
oblivious to tears that slowly drip.
The face in the mirror loses lustre,
resembling now, a demonic creature,
deadened to soft, subtle voice of conscience,
man of the world, in truth a predator,
forging with evil, shaky alliance.

At Birth Written: by Miracle man 9-3-2019 life’s mast was hoisted and sails unfurled, And while I’ve never became a man of the world. I’ve done my best with what God has given, And by a fecund imagination I’ve been driven. Like Jonah, I too, was found inside a great fish, Jesus gave me hope and now I cease to wish. From the belly of my fish I would soon ascend, God’s voice had brushed me like a gentle wind.

Yes I see you man of the world:
Flashy on cue in myriad twirls.

Yes I know when to step aside:
Succinct you send your swirl of pride.

Yes I know now that tragic touch:
Watch time somehow scoop away much.

Yes I know why all magic fades:
The weary sighs that sorrow trades.

Yes I know then that fear resents:
The crippling trends in cheer's intent.

Yes, I must say that common sense
Soon fades away to true pretense.
